God all I ever think about is this man. My dude could have ruled like all of Britain but he saw Lancelot fighting ONCE and was like “I’m about to end my own whole career” and gave up the entire war and surrendered to arthur just to make Lancelot happy like . God oh my god .

I just think about the fact he gave up his own happiness for lancelots for so long he ended up driving himself to an early gave (40 years early!!!) because he couldn’t bare to hurt him like. He did everything he was like “if guenevere makes you happy I will do everything in my power to keep you together” and he does!! He really does!!!!

Like the man literally dies because he thought Lancelot died. Galehaut straight up died in his sleep he was so upset over even the CONCEPT of loosing Lancelot which is made all the more worse because he thought Lancelot was dead after lance ran off while wounded to FIND galehaut and tell him he loved him after realizing it himself like I . I can’t take that man I can’t take that .

Lancelot too makes me gay yearn so hard . My favorite quote from the later half of the book is when Lancelot returns from joyous grad after galehaut has died and the only thing he does is report to arthur galehaut is dead but no one ends up caring. Everyone just is excited to have Lancelot back but he is so fucking depressed because not only did he loose galehaut after finally understanding what he means to him, this was lancelots first actual experience with death of someone close to him as king ban died when he was young and he grew up in the lake . I’ll try and find the quote tomorrow it makes me SOB. Imagine ur mom showing up as ur in the middle of the woods, injured and delusional from blood loss and tiredness from trying to find your dearest friend and she just goes “My prince your boyfriend is dead.” Like holy fuck
