I mean I personally have zero interest in explaining the multiversal mechanics of Homestuck at this point in time, but what bugs me is people thinking that breaking every single in-universe rule is worthwhile so June and John can coexist. If we have June... we don't need John

The writers made a beloved couple turn into NTR in two separate narratives for the “Drama” of it all and you think people are just going to say “yeah ok sure I’ll support you and love you Hussie no matter what”? You never let anyone criticize any media without going “actually, it’s all fine and you’re just overreacting” like you’re so above it all. God forbid lesbians want to see a couple that doesn’t end in cheating in their favorite media. Get over yourself.

It's a normal thing that happens. Not a GOOD thing, but a NORMAL thing

No one writing Homestuck2 is doing this because they want to see Kanaya "cucked" or to "ruin Rosemary in every timeline". It's just some post-canon content, taking these narrative developments as a personal attack doesn't help anyone. Homestuck ended with Rose and Kanaya getting married and you're welcomed, if not encouraged, to ignore anything that's happened after that point

Rosemary helped me get through some rough times in my life. I'm not saying any of this because I'm willing to sacrifice my favorite couple at the altar of defending Andrew Hussie. Personally I've never been more consistently pissed off at Andrew since the Epilogues dropped... But that's fine, I don't need to like the creator as a person to be confident that the story will progress in a way that's satisfying to me in the end

Hussie sucks, but that's been a known factor of Homestuck since the very beginning. It's not news to me

The thing is, Rose didn't do this to cheat on her wife. She did it to help out her friend. She describes it as "short" and transactional before returning to be faithful to her wife for another decade and a half when the affair got revealed by external factors. It would basically be a non-issue if not for the fact that they lied about it. However the deception has nothing to do with Rose herself, but the state of the ridiculous world they live in

The Candy timeline is supposed to read like an unnecessary epilogue, a fanficcy thing where tropey shit happens for no logical reason other than that the "plot" demands it. I'm pretty sure that Harry Anderson, Vrissy, & Tavros were not actually intended to be real characters in the Candy epilogue, they were parodies of the types of two-dimensional offspring you see in these types of stories. Homestuck 2 has gone on to flesh out these kids, seemingly only for the audience's benefit... Yiffany is almost literally a carryover from this Candy epilogue mindset where the kids aren't as important as what they represent to their parents, the characters the audience has already grown to care about

(Now I'm not saying they won't flesh out Yiffy in good time, but that their intention is to first capitalize on the absurdity of the situation at hand)

The reason Rose had to lie to Kanaya about this is because of this tropeyness. Kanaya explicitly empathizes with Jade's desire to be a mother and there's no reason she would oppose her wife carrying this child if it made them both happy. However the circumstances of the "secret child plot" as a tropey mechanism meant that most of the cast (And most importantly, the audience) can't know about them until the plot necessitates it

Kanaya is handling it well because, this was never designed to hurt her. It's bullshit sure, but it's known bullshit. Now that the truth is revealed, the damage is done

Do I expect that to satisfy everyone who feels betrayed by this? No of course not...

But that should at least explain my perspective, the perspective where something silly happens... Like a secret Jaderose daughter named "Yiffany Longstocking" and people react like this was orchestrated for no other reason than to cause harm to them personally... It is not, it's just standard Homestuck nonsense that people should be accustomed to by now

I feel like even implying he’s “lonely” is going too far to potentially excuse the actions of an unrepentant guy like Faba. It’s entirely possible he’s just as self-centered as he seems and and is perfectly satisfied being focused on his own standing and promotion in the Aether Foundation

The implication that villains do what they because they’re alone is how you end up with one-sided ships like Rey//lo where a multi-talented woman becomes “responsible” for an entitled jerk while the fandom raves about how “romantic” it is… In reality that particular brand of “opposites attract” yields miserable overextended women and unchanging manchildren with someone to blame their behavior on (Rather than being forced to better themselves on their own). In real life no one should ever be expected to “fix” a “bad boy” (Which is to say, fully-grown men who are just “bad” in every sense of the word)

But I digress, if the anime is anything to go by there’s already an answer to your question
