YALL. LISTEN. Anubis redesign.

Or at the very least a redesign of. his face. because I swear to god I cannot draw bodies properly. Maybe one day this design will get more than a messy sketch.

I do (or did?) love Anubis' canonical design but I also really wanted to experiment a lil with how he would look like with a slightly darker skintone, although I really cannot say I did anything "myth accurate" because in most hieroglyphs I've seen he is Quite Orange. So, he got a darker shade but with the ashy/corpsey impression kept!

Hair. Not much to say. I just wanted to give him something slightly less 2010's (looking very pointedly at the official art atm)

Now, markings, you may ask. Listen. As far as I know, the egyptian gods were said to have skin of gold, so, I kinda imagine he is stuck in that awkward teenager phase where his appearance is changing (relatively) rapidly and he has no idea how anything works, so the markings are basically the result of attempting to get his skin to look slightly less godly and then it just. kinda got a bit stuck like that. Honestly I have just seen too many depictions of Anubis or Anubis-esque creatures with gold speckled skin and it stuck.

New sorcerer lady I've been working on <3 Meet Medea “Thicket” Terezis

Tad bit of rambling about her below the cut

She's a bit homebrewed because I got the idea for a faerie dragon draconic bloodline sorcerer. Since their scales change colors as they age, hers change over the timeframe she's had them. So while she's mid-40s, her scales are mid-30s, shifting to indigo and violet as the decades go on <3

When she was little, she tried to help out a wounded faerie dragon. It ultimately didn’t make it, but it gave her a gift for her help regardless. The tip of its wing was already nearly fallen off so it gave the piece to her. She thought the “trinket” was the extent of the gift, but the magic in its blood bound to hers as well, later revealing her a new sorcerer and the wing tip her arcane focus.

Unfortunately, her parents were a superstitious and paranoid couple. When her scales came in, they had thought she was making deals and risking both herself and family. Her parents tried to kill her, hoping to void any deal she may have made that would affect them, but she managed to escape — earning the scars across her facial scales.

In her running, she wandered through a fey crossing, ending up lost in the Feywild. Pixies found her, playing small tricks to test her temperament. She assumed the pranks and small giggles were from more faerie dragons, so she eagerly played along, trying to get a glimpse of her new friends. Some pixies eventually revealed themselves as she proved herself a safe person, guiding her through the Feywild (with much playing along the way) and back to the Material Plane. The magic of the Feywild left its mark, leaving her with a tail of her beloved faerie dragons.

She deemed herself Thicket — more often Ket for short later on — both for safety in dealing with fey and for fear of being returned home or simply recognized in her younger years. She no longer holds her childlike whimsy or giggly nature of either fey or faerie dragons — facing her reality on the Material Plane quickly buried it — but she is always on the lookout for them. Her fondness of them leaves her often asking small favors in exchange for neat trinkets and vice versa — or simply playing along with their tricks, even spinning some around.

Now she wanders, an adventurer helping where she can when she can. She much prefers to be in or near forested areas so it is easier and more likely for her to find helpful fey or faerie dragons, but she also enjoys checking out the chaos of cities and the variety of people they bring in.

She always makes sure to have a decorated staff — something to be assumed her arcane focus as an attempt to distract from her earring that is her real one — in case someone tries to take it from her and halt her casting.
