Summary: After who knows how long frozen in stone, Moy and his companions are finally free. The fate would have been bad enough on its own, but it means the vital and secret mission Moy was on has gone ignored for far too long. He needs to get it back on track, and quickly, if he wants to avoid losing everything that's important to him. He has a lot of time to catch up on, so he has to be swift, ruthless, and efficient.

Unfortunately for him, he isn't the only one with a secret.

Tecothy and Olly (Tecotholly? Ollythy?), because I've been working on my unpetrified drow/Zhent adventure A Disastrous Path.

Snippet under the cut.

Olly strongly considered sliding his fingers across the floor and letting them brush against the drow’s. Considered it so strongly in fact that he found himself doing it before his brain could kick in to stop it.

The moment his fingers made contact with the drow’s own Tecothy jolted upright - like he'd been shocked - eyes suddenly wide and pupils tiny so they looked really, really red - brows shooting up in surprise.

Shit, Olly’s hesitation jumped in too late, that was - shit - I shouldn't have done that.

He didn't move his hand, but Tecothy turned his head slowly, looking down at his fingers as if dumbfounded.

“I'm sorry,” Olly blurted out, ill advised and panicking, and then blurted out something even worse, “it's just - I just- you're really cool.”

Tecothy blinked at him.

“You're like the coolest person I've ever met,” Olly added, because apparently he couldn't stop himself from saying more things.

The longer Tecothy said nothing the more he felt like his stomach was turning upside down, but, although the light was low, Olly realised something.

The drow was blushing.

A growing, thorough purple bloom on his cheeks that seemed to be reaching right to his ears.

He finally broke the excruciating silence.

“Oh,” he said, very quietly.

From A Disastrous Path, Now Taken (Olly, Tecothy, Moy, Rugan and underdark adventures - curveball!)

“This is a different sort of dark,” Tecothy said quietly, eyes tracing the distance, “do you…” He hesitated. Olly was surprised to see his eyes flit up to catch Olly’s own a moment, a little nervous, before quickly aveting. The little flash of ruby had done it, though, triggered the silly bubble that had parked itself right in his gut at some point.  This is the stupidest crush you've ever had Olly and you've had some shockers. “...miss the light?” “Yeah,” Olly admitted, “miss a lot of things really but…” He kicked his feet a little, hanging over the edge. “Been going from one dark place to another. Stuck in a cave then another cave then the underdark and then this…” He sighed. “I feel like it just keeps getting worse. It sucks.” Out of the corner of his eye he saw Tecothy’s lips curl just a little, amused. “Yes,” he said, “fortune fails us again. And again.” “It really bloody does,” Olly said grimly, “although that's nothing new I suppose. I'm not sure I've ever felt lucky in my entire life.” “Me either,” Tecothy agreed, and then hesitated, “except… perhaps…” His eyes flitted to Olly’s face again, but hurried away, as if afraid to linger. He never looked at him for too long.  He had trailed off, but the rest of his sentence hung in the air. Olly wondered what it was. “Except?” He pushed, curious. “You, finding us, and stopping Rugan from killing me,” Tecothy said.
