the karate kid 2 // the princess diaries 2
Life is funnier when you imagine Kreese's reaction when being told that Johnny dating Daniel was the best thing that could have happened in 1984. No no like hear me out-
Daniel and Johnny getting together -> No fight in the tournament.
No fight in the tournament -> Johnny wins
Johnny wins -> Cobra Kai wins
Cobra Kai wins -> Kreese doesn't get angry.
Kreese doesn't get angry -> Kreese doesn't lose his students.
Kreese doesn't lose his students -> He doesn't get revenge in Daniel.
He doesn't get revenge in Daniel -> He doesn't lose 1985 Tournament.
He doesn't lose 1985 Tournament -> No 30 years rivalry
No 30 years rivalry -> Everyone happy including Johnny and Daniel.
Daniel and Kumiko meeting again after three decades and he's like 'I'm supposed to believe a guy never got a ring on that finger?' like THE BAMBI IS SO SMOOTH AND FOR WHAT??!??
So, you know that Silver being shipped with Daniel and or Johnny is disgusting and toxic, right? It's ships like that that I can't just let it go and not be angry about it. Especially Silverrusso. Daniel was a child, and Silver was a grown man. That is disgusting. If it was some man and a teenage girl there would be so many people going WTF this can't be a thing. Well guess what? You still should be saying that, because the way Silver treated Daniel was abuse. I can't even believe that people ship that.
What is wrong with you that you think that's okay? And no one takes what Daniel went through seriously enough. Man has some trauma, and it's real and ought to be taken seriously. Cobra Kai tried to kill him. Silver, Barnes, Kreese, they were all trying to kill him. And Silver tortured him for fun, because Kreese asked him to. That's fucked up. I can't even fathom why ya'll think it's acceptable to go, oh, these two should fuck and have a relationship.
Ya'll disgust me. Truly. Seriously. Seriously though. SERIOUSLY.
YOU 🤨🫵 #2 for Ali, Kumiko, and Jessica EACH. Feminism Moment
Oh gee whiz let me get into something more comfortable (pulls on a scratchy grandma sweater with the lesbian flag)
For #2, Favorite canon thing about (these) character(s):
So for Ali, my favorite thing is her fire. And yeah, that can be a classic dudebro thing to say like "she's feisty 😍", but I don't really mean that. Ali speaks her mind and steps in when things aren't fair and she's not afraid to handle it herself, despite being taught by her bougie ass parents that she should only be a quiet, pretty bargaining chip. She hits Johnny when he's an ass (and in the middle of a country club!) and she criticizes her own background (even if she still can't quite extricate herself from a place of privilege). She all around has a lot more personality and agency than most 80s love interests. Another thing I just have to mention is as a kid I wished I was Daniel so bad. That was for gender reasons but also for lesbian reasons - I LOVE YOU, ALI MILLS
For Kumiko, my favorite thing is her unbreakable curiosity and lust for life. She dreams of being a dancer and she constantly strives to teach herself and find joy in her interests even when she is almost sure her dream will never come true. She expresses genuine interest in Daniel despite his adorable hyperactive rambling in his unfamiliar diction (and yes, this could simply be because she is a Love Interest - but I adore her and Daniel together because they are both so curious and open-minded). She finds wonder in her village and showing Daniel the beauty of her home even when U.S. imperialism threatens said home and she has every right to want to shelter it and herself. She teaches kids, has a new experience with them every time! She is so positively curious and I love her!!!
For Jessica, my favorite thing movie wise is the fact she didn't end up a love interest - not really. That was so refreshing, her simply being allowed to just be Daniel's friend and nothing more. But actually about her is her loyalty. If I was in Jessica's shoes, not even from this city and only here temporarily, I would not spend so much time and effort with a guy in such a wack situation. And again, since these are 80s young women written by men for men, this might simply be because Daniel is the Special Male Character, and she has to be into whatever he's got going on. But I like to think this is just who Jessica is. She's an athlete, a hiker! She's an artist! She commits and doesn't quit! She's loyal and she's got your back!
The 90s Damiko that never was.

Dancing and snooping around, two of Daniel and Kumiko’s favorite hobbies <3 That second picture though! ^_^
