tlatl: worldbuilding (myrillian)

this is a very badly drawn map, but here it is!

Myrillian: where the vampires live

After the fall of Anikerre (see: the bright red star in Revaine), the entire monarchy and centralized government collapsed. Each territory submitted a representative to a ruling body called the Carnix, which was meant to find a way to restructure the government in an orderly fashion. Anikerre could no longer be the capitol city, this much was clear, and between those who blamed Nessarille and those who blamed power-hungry territories, there was almost no way to restore peace. Thus, the Carnix remained in power, and greed and corruption sky-rocketed. The government was never restructured and the Carnix continued to rule for another century and a half, up until the time The Last and the Lost begins.

Throughout this week, I’ll be getting into Myrillian’s worldbuilding! I’m kind of nervous about this turned out, so I hope you like it!

character introduction: callum

This the before-the-story version of Callum’s character -- there’s so much that I can’t put on here without it spoiling the whole thing! There will be a post-story version, too!

name: Callum 

gender: male

alias: He doesn’t really have one. He doesn’t even know his own last name, thanks to his being a sanguise. 

face claim: Greg Sulkin

age: 19

from: He doesn’t know where he’s from, either. The earliest memories he has are of living in the palace that he’s known his whole life, so it might be true that he’s lived there that long. That’s what everyone tells him, anyway. 

profession: As a sanguise, Callum is virtually no more than a human bloodbag to the vampires he’s been surrounded by his entire life, but there’s a part of him that’s always wanted more

alignment: somewhere between chaotic good and true neutral 

birthday: He doesn’t know when his birthday is, either. The vampire in charge of the sanguises told him, once, that his birthday is December 5th, and that’s always stuck with him. He doesn’t know if it’s true or not, but it’s better than nothing. 

personality type: INTP

traits: kind, quick on his feet, hopeful, doesn’t trust other people very easily, does not give up ever, observant, fast learner, super shy, actual heart of gold

trope: comforting comforter, I am who?, starting a new life, 

loves: fresh air, dogs, a good night’s sleep, to dream, to read, not being alone (but only with certain people) 

hates: the head of the Carnix, storm season, the feeling of being trapped, hot weather

I just re-read TLATL and omg I love lulu and harry so muuuch. I imagine that trying to have a baby with in vitro fertilization and then having a ste of twins or triplets and going "that's a few more babies than we were expecting but it's fine I guess". George would be such a good big brother, helping his parents take care of his sisters (yes, they are having girls)

Name: Isolde Rensanis

Gender: female

Alias: Rhiannon 

Face claim: Emeraude Toubia

Age: 118 years old (but she's a vampire, so she doesn't exactly look like it)

From: Anikerre, Myrillian, the nation’s former capitol city; it was destroyed 102 years ago in an attack on the royal family

Profession: member of the Carnix (not because she likes them, but because she’s too powerful for them to say no to, and she wants a say for her people); ruler of the territory where she lives

Alignment: chaotic lawful (she has a very intense moral code, which she is very dedicated to, but few people know what it is or how to define it)

Birthday: January 21

Personality type: ENFP

Traits: leader, visionary, observant as all get out, good at getting what she wants, emotional, will do absolutely anything to protect the people she loves, can be indecisive from time to time but doesn’t budge when she makes up her mind, protective (sometimes too much), very driven and ambitious, does not let go of things easily

Trope: pretty princess powerhouse, also maybe humans need aliens, evil twin, and big brother instinct, 

Loves: her people, her family, interior design/ planning things (i.e. parties), high heels, music, dancing, books, a good manicure

Hates: those who rule by fear, the Carnix, the color orange, snakes, being short, not knowing what to do/ not being able to help, her cousin’s ex-girlfriend, things that are messy

Seriously I am emotional after reading the face cos when he spoke about selling his house in LA to go to London all I could think about was TLATL Harry and how he did the same thing and spoke about it in like the same way and honestly YOUR MIND

Name: Sarilyse Thane

Gender: female

Alias: She doesn’t really have a need for an alias, but during her days as an assassin, she was known as the Dark Heart. She thinks it’s a little silly, but most people fear the name enough, so she doesn’t really mind. 

Face Claim: Lesley-Ann Brandt

Age: 118 years old (thanks to being turned into a vampire just before her seventeenth birthday, she doesn’t exactly look it) 

From: Versum, Nessarille - city in the heart of the Nessarillian countryside. Sarilyse was born there; after her parents died in a werewolf attack, she was rescued by one of the king’s guards and taken to the palace in the capitol of Nessarille. It was there that she was trained as an assassin and assigned to protect the king’s daughters when not carrying out the king’s dirty work. 

Profession: former assassin turned second-in-command; charged with the protection of the territory’s leader and protection of their family

Alignment: somewhere between true neutral and neutral good, depending on her mood

Birthday: December 4th 

Personality Type: ISTJ

Traits: kind of quiet, will rip you to pieces with a sarcastic comment, has more weapons than friends, will do absolutely anything for the people she loves, not afraid to call you out on your BS, guarded but completely honest with Isolde, is the best warrior in the world

Trope: genius bruiser; undying loyalty; blood brothers; combat parkour; training from hell; action girl; damsel out of distress

Loves: a good party, a good book, a good sword, kicking ass, her family, chocolate, the ocean/ the water, taking action to deal with something

Hates: some of the things she did when she was younger, dwelling on those things she did when she was younger, being deceived, the Nessarillian monarch (from like a century ago, though, not the current one), she doesn’t really have much more respect for the current Nessrillian monarch though, coffee, people who abuse their power

Also I woke up this morning thinking about TLATL. And I had very clear visions of scenes that you didn't write but that could have had happened. Like how Lulu would wake up one day to Harry whisper-reading a story to George with him in his arms next to her in bed. And she'd sneek a picture and send it to Anne and nearly cry. Or the first time Lulu and George would come round Anne's house with Gemma there for lunch and they all CRY FROM HAPPINESS AND ME INCLUDED THAT IT'S FINALLY ALL GOOD

2/ WHAT THE FUCK I FEEL SO ATTACKED RIGHT NOW WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!?!?!?!?!?! I DON’T THINK I REALISE HOW MUCH OF A WEAKNESS LULU AND HARRY ARE FOR ME AND THEN YOU HIT ME WITH THIS AND I WANNA WEEP, I LOVE THEM!
