TLK Week 2025 - Day 4 - Lion Guard
a bunch of Lion Guard hcs for @tlk-week
The Guard once asked Kion a bunch of questions on how the Roar works and Kion has yet to answer some of them
Bunga once got Hakuna Matata stuck in everyone’s heads to the point some of them were mumbling the tune while saving Thurston from his bullshit
Beshte is the oldest of the Guard and accidentally treats the Guard like they’re his younger siblings sometimes (#BigBStandsForBigBro solidarity)
Beshte swore once and the entire Guard was floored and never forgot it
Bunga is the most likely to swear the most, dude has no filter
Fuli referred to the boys as ‘brothers’ once and none of them let it go
Kion’s mane started to grow out at the same time Beshte’s hair did a bit
more of an personal AU thing than anything but Bunga casually said Kion’s full name (Kiongozi) once and just never did it again
Ono never believed in Dragons until he actually found out he knew one (also an AU thing)
ONO HEADCANONS!!!!
Yup...because of my AU centred around Ono's Idol...that came with a bunch of new hc's for him (and sparked my hyperfixation for the show again) So....HEADCANON TIME!! This will also contain some hc's that involve my human design for him!! Regular Headcanons:
Prior to Season 3, he was a regular babysitter for Ona - since Kulinda would be busy hunting for food, or from time to time, building new nests in other areas a lot, she would usually call Ono a lot to look after her.
Ono's parents are...well let's just say they're barely around. Even though he himself is not around his flock a lot, his parents are usually nowhere to be found - usually only during late nights, where he would already be asleep.
Speaking of sleep...he usually slept for longer than any of the others - even Bunga! (like 14-16 hours?) However, when he lost his eyesight, he became...incredibly alert. Those old sleeping habits completely wore off of him. (His sleeping duration was halved - so now only around 6-8 hours - heck, sometimes even just 4 hours.)
Really good at hiding his emotions. Mostly. He usually breaks down when he's near his more closer friends - but mostly Beshte. ESPECIALLY during Season 3.
His flock had a lot of songbird habits, including himself - but he usually couldn't sing as well as the rest of his flock, so he got teased often
Despite this, his flock still deeply cares about him, as he's one of the youngest egrets in their flock.
A lot of information he learnt about animals mainly came from...other animals!
I feel like he would be the type of person to deny if something was wrong with them (like being sick)...and just give up when it was completely obvious.
Speaking of, he's the 2nd most accident prone in the group, with the 1st being Bunga (yeah, unsurprising) - prior to Ono's Idol, he would try out a lot of tricks he saw the older egrets in his flock (an others) do, which resulted in...well, a lot of injuries. (He got a broken wing one time.)
Despite those injuries, he still continued right those varied tricks up until Ono's Idol. Why he continued the tricks prior was because he knew that someone would tend to him the second he got injured - but with Ono's Idol, his increased worry of safety for the Klipspringers eventually caused him to do the Hadithi Spin - with no one around.
Although he ended up inventing a new spin, he stopped doing those sort of tricks since. (Which is my personal hc as to why he doesn't use the Ono Spin besides in Ono's Idol.)
Developed a slight case of Petraphobia (fear of rocks) after that - although it wasn't really a serious case compared to his case of Chiroptophobia, he would still have a slight flinch and worry when it comes to loose rocks.
Hhis eyesight got worse during their journey to the Tree of Life. Although he could still see the blobs of his friends, he couldn't really distinguish any objects anymore, even when squinting.
Humanized Headcanons: There won't be a lot compared to my regular headcanons buut...I still wanna mention them!!
First off, a general headcanon - his flock developed a mysterious mutation that caused them to grow wings from birth - sooooo thats why he also has wings in my humanized version!
He usually sleeps sitting (as it's a more comfy position for him) - but he lies down whenever he collapses, or is just...absolutely tired.
He cuts the back of his shirts up until his wing length - since his wings are connected to his back, he usually cuts them a bit so his wings feel comfy.
10 in S1 to Early S2,
11 in Mid-S2 to End-S2
12 from Early S3 to Mid S3
13 in the end of S3.

So his head feathers, right? In my humanized version, his flock would usually dye and upper part of their hair that they preferred - of any color, too.
They do this multiple times - so much to the point where their hair molecules just...mysteriously mistake it as their natural hair color due to how much they do it.
Usually prefers clothing that don't need an extra steps to fit them, like buttoning your shirt and such. He just likes clothing you can slip on and nothing else.
He used to wear sandals from S1-S2...but he kind of got tired of it by the end, and now just goes completely barefoot in S3.
I like to headcanon he used a white cane during their trip to the Tree of Life - even when flying - just in case he bumped into any objects.
He got the white cane from Rafiki!
Aaand...thats it for now. PHEEWWW....that was a lot of info-dumping
