say what you will about korrasami “coming out of nowhere” but asami instantly volunteering to watch over korra as she meditates is one of the gayest moves i’ve ever seen

yknow what the atla live action made me realize? how heartbreaking it is that korra was revealed as the avatar at a much much much younger age than anyone else, aang included! like i don't even understand how aang would allow his successor to have to face this reality he's had to face too young himself! maybe he didn't allow anything, maybe the white lotus did their own thing buuuuut it's still so sad! korra was 4 years old, her whole life has been "being the avatar" and not being korra. which i understand it's the point of her journey in the show and she kinda revealed herself lol but i mean these goddamn adults couldn't let this baby grow up before training her??? like sure i think at the beginning it was more her having teachers helping her, but then she got locked up in that compound "for her protection" before she was even like 10 years old! just that, ever since she was 4 years old, people have been wanting to brainwash her, kidnap her or kill her, ffs! so "for her own good" she basically grew up in a prison. heck more than aang (who was dead, obviously), how did katara and zuko even allow that???? any of the atla protagonists who have had to endure growing up too fast... like ugh. just, sad.

don’t think it’s spoken enough about how hiroshi looked as though he was literally going to murder asami in his rage in the season 1 finale

okay the jargala posts all got me thinking about my headcanon that asami and jargala used to hook up during the 3 year time skip

so i read through turf wars again to see if there’s anything that could prove me wrong/imply that asami didn’t know jargala previously

arguably the ONLY thing that makes asami seem unfamiliar with jargala is this one line

but like i could just be like yeah asami just didn’t want to admit to korra that it was jargala, the triad leader she had a fling with, as opposed to “some woman named jargala”

“the lingering question kept me up 2am who do you love” this is both of them tbh

“wishing you were at my door” no one can convince me korra didn’t wish asami would just show up at the south pole even though she said no

the ENTIRE bridge is just asami trying not to send korra that letter but “these are the words I held back as I was leaving too soon” is korra trying to figure out if her feelings were real

“please don’t be in love with someone else please don’t have somebody waiting on you” love you mako but get out the way <3

thinking about korra and the SHIT she’s been through, i mean come on

girlie lost her bending (not permanently but still) (AND SHE ONLY GOT IT BACK RIGHT AFTER CAUSE THE WRITERS DIDNT KNOW IF THEY WERE GETTING ANOTHER SEASON) , was betrayed by several authority figures who she trusted, had to fight THE embodiment of darkness (FUSED WITH HER UNCLE), PERMANENTLY had her connection to her past lives removed, had 4 of the worlds most dangerous crimsons chasing her down, was caught by them and poisoned and nearly died, developed PTSD and isolated herself from most of her friends for 3 years, fought a METAL GIANT taller than most buildings in the city that could shoot rays of concentrated death, not to mention said giant was piloted by someone who she had trusted and who had helped her in the past, was hated by humans and spirits for accidentally opening a portal by saving herself and HER ENEMY from being completely pulverised, never really had a childhood without being THE avatar, was shut away and had no friends and was under insane amounts of pressure for most of her childhood, and had the love of her life brainwashed and convinced she was her worst enemy.

and that’s all just from the top of my head i’m sure i’ve missed some things
