Man’s Greatest Treasure || Joongki & Youngshin

After being trapped inside the Firefly zones while his leg healed, Joongki was more than ready to get out. The skyscrapers that littered the landscape were more than enough proof that Seoul used to house millions of people, yet being stuck too long in the zones with the remnants of humanity made him feel crowded. He didn’t want to endure anymore of Jihyo’s fussing, either, so he wrote her a note in his rough penmanship to tell her where he was headed and when to expect him back before he slipped away while she was on a hunting trip.

He saluted the members of the patrol at the gate, told them he was going on a test run to see if he was fit for duty again, and headed out with a mostly empty backpack, his baseball bat, and his hunting knife. The area immediately around the Firefly zone was frequently patrolled and relatively safe, but Joongki made certain to travel as stealthily as possible. It was a good test run—he couldn’t crouch as low as normal, not without a nasty twinge which swiftly progressed to a painful cramp if his thigh tensed up too long.

It took him nearly an hour to reach the small library he liked to frequent. The windows had been boarded up for years, ever since he first ran across it, but the front doors only looked barricaded at a passing glance. Joongki levered himself over the rubble he had strategically piled in the way and opened the front doors.

Joongki pulled out his flashlight but didn’t turn it on immediately. He crept through what had once been a lobby—or rather, the circulation desk, as a rotting sign had once proclaimed—listening closely for any sign of the Infected. Once he was certain the place was clear, he switched on his light and took the stairs to the second floor, where the nonfiction section was housed. He would like to haul as many books out as possible, but books were heavy, and with his mostly healed leg, it would be better if he didn’t take the risk of being weighed down. Just two, maybe three, and then he needed to leave. He could come back for novels another time.

BLIND / YG & JS

Outside the rain was falling, keeping a cool breeze in the room that was quickly otherwise becoming heated. 

Yongguk laid comfortably on his newly constructed bed, his fingertips tracing against Youngshin’s bare thigh.

Silence bounced through the room as his hand began travelling higher, resting around her hip. He stared up at her, knowing that this wasn’t their first, or last encounter that played out like this. One of the soft breezes pushed the scent of her perfume up Yongguk’s nose, bringing a heavy sigh to leave his lips. His arms fell to his side as he sat himself up beneath her, gripping one of his large hands gently around the lace of her bra. His lips pressing against her chest and travelling upwards towards her neck.

Letting out a deep breath against her skin, his arms wrapped around her body switching their positions. His undone jeans sitting lazily on his hips, Yongguk continued to pamper Youngshin. His kisses becoming a little more aggressive as they began travelling down her body. He made sure to touch every inch of her bare stomach, resting his lips against one of her hips. He raised his body to hover over hers.

Dear No One | JS&LS

Static. Endless static. He should be used to it by now, after days and weeks of trying, but he still isn’t. There are shrouds of something in his voice- Hope? No, it’s always been more morose than that. Sadness? Maybe, that seemed about right. It’s the only thing tat felt natural anymore. A few of the guys said that this place was where they had the best results on their walkies. Lei didn’t trust them, he never did, but this wasn’t an opportunity that he could doubt. It was a lonely clearing, just off the steps of a broken hotel, he had to curve around rooms and railing and even make his way up a few flights, but he was here and that’s all that matters.

At first he didn’t hear the steps that echoed behind his own, around these parts, Lei always assumed that someone could be following. When he stopped, the sounds behind him stopped, yet he didn’t seemed to mind. If someone wanted to steal or attack, they would’ve done it by now. So he stayed put, fiddling with the dials and the channels on the walkie, mumbling a few words here and there until like a knight in shining armor, a clear sound letting a jolt of happiness out of his mouth, a soft and delicate hum. In the matter of a second, the shadow lurking behind wasn’t important anymore, the threat of infected and bandits was the least of his worries and for the first time in years he felt happy.

“Feng,” His voice stretched out, the walkie talkie sounding on and off. Lei waited a beat, the seconds passing by as the all too familiar feeling of despair washed over him. “Don’t make me talk alone like last time again.” There was a fake laugh and a faltering smile, almost like he was showcasing his false beliefs to the empty world. That’s how it started to feel anyway, the words and the stories going out, never to be heard by anyone’s ears besides his own. His head cocked to the side, hearing for the lurking person, making sure no sudden moves were made, but then he stepped down, turning his attention back to the radio. “You’re boring, you know that?”

when the sky gets rough || jk&ys

With every step Jongkook took, a sharp throbbing pain would pierce through his lower abdomen, involuntarily causing him to clench his teeth tightly together. Injuries weren’t uncommon, but for it to be so serious that he was actually staggering his way back? It was rare. He hadn’t quite expected to be ambushed by a group of bandits while on his regular hunt, much less one that was well-organized and trained. He supposed he could only blame it on his lack of luck that day, and it could get even worse. Yet here he was, still alive and breathing, so perhaps it still wasn’t that bad.

The red stain on his shirt seemed to be spreading with every second, as he forced himself to move forward. It took every ounce of his strength to actually escape from the group of bandits. By no means was he a weakling, but no matter how strong he was, it was a lone battle that already at serious disadvantage right from the start.

Hissing in pain, Jongkook wasn’t sure if he could make it all the way back to the Military district before he fainted due to loss of blood. No, he can’t. He can’t just die like that. Not when he had come so far just to survive and stay alive.

Almost stumbling, he made his way towards what used to be a building that had collapsed and only piles of rubble remained. He winced, and slid himself against the wall so that he was partially hidden from view. If he can’t stop his wound from bleeding in time, then he would really be so dead.

Tick-tack || JS & Luna

The last time she looked for a person so desperately was seven years ago when she got lost from her parents’ and couldn’t find the way back doesn’t matter how much she tried. For some reason, Luna couldn’t take the pleadings of the newly rescued family out of her head. Apparently, just like her, the older brother from that family was separated from the rest since they were trying to run away from the infected. The Fireflies and some civilians were capable of saving most part of the fugitives, however, one of them was left behind, and apparently, Luna was by far one of the few people the family could ask for help.

They had explained the location for some couple of times before she left for her search, but unfortunately, even with the directions, the part of the Free District that they were found was quite… unknown to her, even after so many years of living in there.

Asking for help while she worked on the hospital was acceptable, everyone needed help in there, and she needed aid to attend to all the injured.  However, she completely changed her mind once she was out on the Free District. She didn’t like or want company once she’s on the outside; too dangerous to have a unnecessary amount of people wandering through the streets. Luna was on a tight, she could ask for help, or screw herself on the outside trying to find a place she knew she wouldn’t be able to detect alone.

But there was this one person she knew that would be able to help her to through this situation. She just had to find her. JS was always someone particularly difficult to encounter. Luna just hopped this time would be different. The sun would go down in a few hours.
