— in which SAKURA HARUKA goes to you for comfort and cuddles ^^

Ah, summer’s approaching. This includes warm breezes, blazing sunlight, and the harvesting from Umemiya’s garden on the school roof.

It’s supposed to highlight the brighter parts of life, no?

Gorgeous sunsets that bleed orange into the sky as students walk home from school.

Ice creams in hand, chattering about gossip and news and manga and everything else in between.

…And then there’s Haruka. Awfully quiet as he stomps out of Pothos Cafe (he had to eat something for dinner) with that scowl on his face that never left his face since they saw Suo’s “house”.

“Where the hell is he?!..” the boy mutters to himself, kicking stray pebbles on the ground as he walks past his apartment. He can’t afford to be alone right now.

He feels his eyes sting and hates feeling like this- so weak and fragile all over some dude lying about his address. Who would be stupid enough to do that anyways??

Sounds like Suo to lie about his house, though.

He punches a cardboard box in anger… then stopped after seeing that he had scared one of a stray cat’s nine lives out of its body.

Your house makes its way into view as he walked on, it being his sanctuary to life’s events.

Knock knock.

It takes a while for you to open the door- in your PJ’s and ready for bed when you catch a glimpse of a bead of sweat lingering on his cheek (he insists it is).

You don’t need to ask him, you knew about how much Haruka cared for his close friend.

You never judged, or laughed at his face. In fact, you were one of the first people he actually felt completely safe with.

That’s also why he found himself in your arms, silently sulking while resting his head on top of your shoulder.

No empty words of comfort, just your presence.

Showing him that you were there.

You understood.

You care.

For him, of course.

And for tonight? That might just be enough for him to let his eyelids flutter shut, slipping into a sleep that consists of dreams with you by his side.

Forever and ever.

• First of all, the time leading up to ACTUAL dating would be like a slow burn fic with at least 100k words.

• both of y’all would definitely shy away from each other, confused on what y’all are feeling (it’s a crush lolol)

• It takes quite a while even with Sakura’s friends teasing him frequently for him to realize his feelings for you 😭

• Anyways after the 100k-word-long build up to the confession, Sakura would still be scared.

• Scratch that, he’d be TERRIFIED. What if he isn’t doing enough as a boyfriend?… What if he isn’t good enough for you, someone he thinks is way too good for him?

• …Little did he know that you were contemplating the same questions, lol.

• If you somehow decide to tell him about these questions, he’d be so confused.

• He literally sees you as a god (even if he won’t admit it), so why would you not be enough for him? If anything, he’s the one who doesn’t deserve you!

• But guess what?- He doesn’t know how to show you it 😭😭😭

• So both of you just silently share the love language of acts of service with cheeks redder than a tomato’s 😂

• He would totally share HIS omelette rice with you… (and food means a lot to him, so ;D)

• Ok I’m not that familiar with Leonardo DiCaprio, but I feel like the both of you would have tea parties almost every day.

• Both of you would constantly tease each other (lovingly), though words of affirmation would be your shared love language.

• He would easily see through all of your facades if you’re having a bad day, and vice versa. It takes one to know one.

• You two would tease Sakura together for fun 😭

• People regard you two as couple goals just because y’all treat each other so well in public..

• As in he would carry your bags, and you would treat him like a prince in return.

• As he doesn’t eat a lot, I’ll take it that you also avoid eating in front of people

(Not as in an eating disorder or anything, if you’re going through something similar please eat something today, your life matters❤️)

• You guys would remind each other to eat something other than tea cakes, encouraging each other often.

• I feel like you guys would enjoy picnics at a park often, just spending quality time together while drinking tea (and of course eating tea cakes).

• The peaceful environment would be a tradition between you two whenever one of you feels under the weather.

• All in all, your relationship would be very sweet, with shared soft moments reserved for each other only.

• Aaaaaaaaaa you two would be the CUEST COUPLE EVER.

• Imagine three notebooks shared between you: One about Him (you wrote it) One about you ( He wrote it)… and one about your relationship together.

It started out normal. Just a cousin of yours that lives in England visiting Japan after a long few years.

…but does said cousin HAVE to take up 90% of your attention when your boyfriend is literally RIGHT HERE NEXT TO YOU?

You know what Hayato does when he’s jealous?- He does it quietly.

An arm circled around your waist- Discreet, silent, but enough to remind you that he’s here.

He’s a respectful man at heart- allows your cousin to take up your time as the two of you chit chatted away and caught up with each other.

But after the hangout? He’s uncharacteristically clingy.

No- not in hugs, kisses, glares whatsoever. (Maybe an eerily soft smile shot at your cousin when saying goodbye, but never directed at you.)

He starts craving your presence more.

Makes you tea to “calm you down after all that excitement” for “better sleep quality”. (He just wants to be with you)

“Oh my god, you still remember that time George rolled down the hill trying to run away from us?”

Giggles filled the summer air as you and your cousin sat on the swings in a playground while Suo stood next to you.

Your tone is light.

Happy.

Suo almost let the corners of his mouth lift at your sparkling eyes as you recalled past memories with your cousin… only for them to fall back down once he realizes that this conversation has been dragging on for almost half an hour.

He can’t help but feel it- the tightening in his chest at your attention being so focused on someone other than him.

The poison that boiled up, up his throat and threatening to spill. Is this jealousy?

Pfft, no way. Hayato knows that you’re his. He’s yours in return. He’s your boyfriend. He shouldn’t be worrying about some cousin of yours.

He can’t help but want to kick your cousin in the face right now, though.

His arm ends up slithering around your waist, claiming to hold you steady in case you fall

(Both of you knew he just wanted an excuse to initiate physical touch.)

After another sidetracking within the conversation, you two ended the night with a hug and a promise to meet up again for lunch someday.

“You really are a chatterbox sometimes, dear. I’ll brew you some herbal tea to soothe that throat of yours when we get home, yeah?”

His voice is soft.

Almost too soft.

He’s controlling himself from showing his jealousy- he doesn’t want to scare you away.

You think that’s the end? Hell no!

Once yall arrived home and washed up (he has spare clothes at yours just in case he decides to sleep over one night), you found yourself cuddled with your boyfriend on the couch with a half forgotten corny romance movie playing in the background.

Herbal tea in hand.

Your favorite snacks in Suo’s.

Maybe it’s the herbal tea’s calming effects.

Maybe it’s the comforting presence of having your boyfriend next to you.

You doze off.

Thump!

Your head lands on Suo’s left shoulder.

He almost froze at the contact.

No one’s ever… been this vulnerable to him before.

He’d usually push you away if you were anyone else- but he didn’t.

He let himself relax just the tiniest bit after using his free hand to cover your shoulders with the throw blanket.

It’s not after he’s certain that you’re in deep sleep when he whispers under his breath..

“Sweet dreams, angel…”

“…you’re mine- just as I am yours.”

“…you’re gonna be the death of me.”

Suo almost smiles as he said that last sentence.

-In which someone makes Sakura Haruka realize that fem!reader and him make a great couple..

It started when his girlfriend’s younger sister started tagging along on their weekly “hangouts” (he insists on calling them that instead of dates.)

“But Nee-san!~ I’ve already finished my homework AND mom agreed that I can follow you guys!” the 7-year-old sibling whined as she begged to go to the park with them.

They had no other excuse to push her away, so they reluctantly let the young girl follow along.

…Little did Sakura know that it would lead to the current situation.

It was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon at the park, just chilling around on benches and eating ice cream… but can he refuse a challenge to a game of tag?

He’s been chasing his girlfriend’s sister for at least an hour, momentarily forgetting about the initial hesitance of bringing a preschooler during their date.

The elder sister just stood at the sidelines, bag slung over her shoulder as she recorded them chasing each other, grinning when she sees her boyfriend and her sister get along so well.

Soon enough, the child seemed to get tired from all the running and screaming, scrambling over towards her sister for water.

Sakura walked on over, too, a smile tugging at his lips after the workout- and the sight before him only made it wider.

His girlfriend had prepared a small towel, wiping her sister’s sweat while the younger girl downed half of the water in the bottle in one go.

The golden hues only accented the heartwarming scene… and it seems like he wasn’t the only one noticing it.

“Aww, look at them! They look like a cute little family. Young love…”

It was a short, off-handed comment by an old granny who had just so happened to pass by… but it was enough to make Sakura freeze.

‘Family?… Me and HER?-‘

…oh, it’s girlfriend.

And guess what he did?

He blushed more (if possible) and started spluttering about how it was nothing.

And so the date ended with him walking her and her sister home…

…but that night he couldn’t sleep.

Why?

‘I don’t mind being called a cute family as long as it’s with her… I guess.’

“I still remember… 3rd of December… <3”

…where SAKURA HARUKA gives you a sweater for Heather Day.

(This is PART 1!! I’ll probably post Part 2 on Heather day ;P)

SAKURA HARUKA first noticed it when you’d watch those instagram reels.

“Heather” by Conan Gray playing in the background.

Your screen? Showing a girl receiving a sweater just as the lyrics hit “Third of December”.

His ears flushed bright red when he saw you smiling… but he brushed it off.

It’s probably something heartwarming.

Something stupid that he can ignore.

…Until Kiryu mentions it to him a week before 3rd December during a hangout with Suo and Nirei.

“Sakura-Chan, do you have a sweater ready? Heather day’s coming up and I’m sure y/n-chan would love receiving one.”

“Wh-wha- WHAT?! THE HELL IS HEATHER DAY? WHY WOULD I NEED TO GET A SWEATER FOR THEM???”

After a long moment of explanations and giggles (mostly from Kiryu and Suo, Sakura’s just a blushing mess), the group heads over to one of the stalls and purchases a sweater fir Haruka to gift.

The days the led up to Heather Day were brutal for Haruka.

He couldn’t stop thinking about the sweater.

Thinking about how you’d react to it.

Would you run away?

Call him all those bad names that he’s heard countless times before?

What if you don’t like the sweater and break up with him because of it???

Of course, you noticed. Haruka’s pretty easy to read when he’s flustered.

You’d try to get him to open up by confronting him about it.. only to be met with a tomato that claims to have other errands to do whenever you bring up the topic of him having a secret.

Nothing could have prepared him for what actually happened on Heather day.
