So, my ASOIAF lover brother is home for the holidays, and I mentioned to him that I have a semi-popular GoT fanfic that I’m struggling to figure out how to end properly.
We spent the next 7 hours plotting out the most epic of epic endings for The Lone Wolf Dies and honestly, I think what we wrote deserves its own fic at this point.
I was originally planning on wrapping everything up in only one more chapter. But the ideas we came up with would take like 5-10 more chapters at least. It’s and ending that is clearly better than what the show gave us, and it’s an ending that book lovers would enjoy as well (if they could get past the Jonsa stuff.) Its so much more epic in scope than I originally planned. It has so much more thematic and literary stuff than I originally planned. It’s also just so good.
I’m honestly torn. Writing with his help could make the final chapters feel different than the first 4, because they cover so much more than just Jonsa and Winterfell, but also...like fuck. It’s so good.
So, I can’t really decide what to do now.
