Spook rating: pretty creepy, for a library

Other than getting startled by the announcement for the last material orders closing for the day, I’ve got a seat in the corner where no one really bothers me. I’m here on very serious work, for the record, but I’d already finished the book I came here for and as mentioned it’s getting too late in the day to order another with how long they take to come in and my having a train to catch. The archive vibes are definitely strong here, honestly stronger than at the actual London Archives, which are very bright and airy. Definitely plenty of spooky old books at least, though they’ve been very nice to me so far.

At a meta level, I hadn’t realized until now how absolutely incredible the season one finale does at setting up the stakes for the entire rest of the series. Good shit.
