uncles (adoptive): richard grayson (late 50s), tim wayne (late 40s/early 50s), duke thomas (mid to late 40s)

my terry is highly canon divergent! he is NOT a clone of bruce and is actually an orphan adopted by jason todd, making him bruce's grandson. also please note my bruce never has a relationship with talia which is why there is no mention of damian. (read more under the cut!)
terry's bio parents worked for powers corporation/technology, a coporation that served as an up and coming rival to both lexcorp and wayne enterprises
both of terry's bio parents discovered that their CEO derek powers was running illegal and immoral experiments, they attempted to blackmail derek powers into stopping the experiments and were murdered by powers's henchman/bodyguard, mr. fixx
mr. fixx framed the jokerz for the death of terry's parents, resulting in terry focusing his rage on the jokerz
little did terry know that red hood was also investigating the death of mary and warren mcginnis
a then 10 year old terry escaped from his foster home and joined a street game known as the "big time gang" and used his gang contacts to build his combat skills and get more info about the death of his parents. he planned on killing or at least beating the people who killed his parents
despite red hood's involvement, there wouldn't be a big break in the case until two years later. having discored a jokerz member who was friends/allies with mr. fixx, terry confronted said jokerz member, a man in his 30s who easily won the fight against the 12 year old and left terry severely injured
red hood found the injured terry in crime alley and helped him get medical treatment and a new foster placement since terry fled from his previous one
however after terry repeatedly fled foster placements and fought on the streets (terry fought people regardless of whether or not he thought they were involved in the murder of his parents), jason realized that no regular foster placement would work for him -- he needed a family like his
altough all members of the batfam came to love and adore terry, jason acted as his father figure and terry was adopted by jason at age 13 (shortly after terry managed to convince jason to let him become robin)
despite becoming robin terry fought alongside red hood just as often as he did batman (the batman mantle at that time was shared/split between cass and tim)
jason didn't allow terry to change mantles until he graduated high school, resulting in terry becoming batman at age 18
the truth about who really killed his parents wouldn't come out until he turned 18 and many of the cases he took on at age 18 mirror the cases found in the batman beyond show
plot idea for interactions: a potential end of world case has terry looking/travelling into the past. terry needs to change the past just enough to save the future.
also disclaimer if you write jason and don't like the idea of jason adopting terry I will pretend your jason & terry are from different universes
I hate dc's obsession with treating bruce as like the "perfect" detective and combatant.... not only does ra's in my version of the dc universe not attempt to replace talia with bruce (ra's actually wants bruce to work as a subordinate and gets mad when my bruce is like fuck you, you don't tell me what to do) but also...
there is no bruce wayne clone / terry mcginnis in my universe. well, not in the way you think. in my take of the dc universe terry is an orphan from crime alley adopted by jason, making terry bruce's grandson instead of his clone .
the batman mantle is shared by cass & tim prior to terry then passed onto terry when he graduates high school
