usually, but not in every case. tmltw refers to trans man loving trans woman specifically. someone could, though, be both trans and a man without being a trans man, such as through being male-female bigender and considering themself trans for one of their genders and cis for the other, or being a transneutral man. similarly for being both trans and a woman without being a trans woman; someone could be a genderqueer woman and transmasculine, or nonbinary and a woman while only considering their nonbinaryhood to be trans
