So it's probably no secret i like tmnt. But I've been seeing old cancelled projects and can't help but wonder about what ifs. Like the apparently what looks to be mirage comic inspired 2001 animated series

I really have to wonder how it would have gone down. Would we have gotten to see a more serious mikey like the actual mirage comics? What would they have done with the series? Idk too much about the mirage comics so I'm not sure. Heck i don't even know if it would have been mirage comic based or if that's just what the art style would have been.(right away mikey just doesn't have his nunchucks back sadly but who knows maybe that's just a trusty movement tool and not tv trying to censor him)

I've seen people say the designs for the show were bad or ugly but i think they look cool... Even if casey looks like a male cartoon character i can't remember. And teen april looks allot like susan spitz from braceface

What do you guys think of this cancelled project? I'd love to see what you think and maybe some of you have more insight than I do.

I don’t know if you guys know this but before 2k3, Mirage Studios pitched a potential TMNT series to Warner Bros. back in 2001. They were able to make a animatic and a pilot for this potential series (which is the video above). Sadly, this never got picked up by Warner Bros. but it did lead to the 4kids 2k3 to come into fruition a few years later.

soemtimes i randomly remember the 2001 3D pilot of a new tmnt series n im like oh yeah that existed........bacj when the towers were still there

i wonder how the course of the tmnt franchise wouldve changed if the tmnt cgi pilot was the one to see the light instead of the 2d tmnt we got........
