like exactly the same feeling. no hate on leoichi as a ship but. just annoying that this show is only known thru shipping now. to the point I cannot bring it up w other usagi, tmnt or just cartoon fans without ppl only remembering the ship lol
I'm re-listening and re-reading interviews tonight and seeing how excited the crew was for the show is just refreshing for how the show just existed sorta on its own too for a bit there. they worked on this show a long time and grew to really have fun with the characters and story and that's what we see. And I guess people can't see that bc they can't sit down delve beyond the 1st ep? there's something annoying and boring about the show? idk anymore, but I am happy any time someone posts just regular fanart or fic from the show (i find also that ppl can just watch&crossover smth else when they think the show is not "deep" enough or whatever)
I know people have talked about this already, but what is it about you guys that makes you love bashing a TMNT group in your crossovers?
Like, there are so many fanfics I've read where people just, show that they probably don't even like the certain show.
The one that has gotten the most of this behavior is the 2012 version. And it's.. honestly ridiculous. Completely and utterly ridiculous.
2012 isn't my favorite, and some of the characters annoy me and there are even some I despise, but, and excuse my language, this is complete and utter bullshit.
You guys need to get your shit together, because this is plain childish. You're writing a whole damn story just to praise how good and wonderful your fav is while leaving the other to rot.
And if you do genuinely like the content of 2012, and you have written one of the stories I'm mentioning, you also need to set yourself straight, because you should know better.
The 'Rise adopts 2012 Mikey', and '2012 goes to 2018' stories seem to be what usually holds the bashing. But there are so many I can't keep count for long.
Though that may be because of my bad memory.
Rise isn't better, and as much as I love it, doesn't deserve to be put on a pedestal built off of hate for their previous versions.
That doesn't mean '12 is better either, so don't get it twisted. '12 has it's own issues that people dislike for their own reasons, they aren't better than Rise and Rise isn't better than them.
And this bashing thing is absolutely insane.
A few, a light few, of the most popular stories are just, Rise being better than '12 because, 'they're a REAL family' and 'they don't @büs3 each other', and it pains me to see it.
You can like Rise without bashing another version on the TMNT. I personally HATED '12 for a while, and even THEN I wasn't writing shit like this.
And now? The story I'm writing doesn't even include any negative points until later. It's just, pure fluff that has like, no drama until the second chapter.
I don't like '12 April, and besides me making a few jokes at her, I still don't bash her. I don't like '12 Splinter all that much either, but what do you know, he's still a good father in the story.
I don't even like Karai because I find her annoying, but woop-de-fucking-doo, she's going to be herself in the story.
It's so easy to just write them as themselves that none of you have an excuse. If me, a previous '12 hater and now a person who watches it, can pull my shit together enough to write a crossover that tries it's best to put bias away to be fair to other characters and make a non bash fic, you can too.
Now please don't make me have to make a part two of this post, I'm tired and just want to see the Rise boys have fun with their counterparts, is that so much to ask?
I made this post because I saw yet another bash fic pass my dash, and I'm just.. tired. So tired. I don't care if it ends up being that five people made these, because these stories are popular, and that's a problem.
Rottmnt incorrect quotes
*2012 turtles, telling 2018 turtles something that happened with their Shreddar*
2012 Leo: “After that we decided we needed to be more careful.”
2018 Leo: “Wow. It sounds like he really—”
2018 Raph: “Leo, don’t do it.”
2018 Leo, about to burst into laughter: “Shredded your plans!”

THE TMNT OF MY CHILDHOOD THAT FIRST INTRODUCED ME TO THE TMNT WORLD AND THE TMNT THAT BROUGHT ME BACK INTO IT.
GUYS I SAW THE TRAILER AND I AM SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW.
Donnie of TMNT 2012 and Raph of TMNT 1987 have the SAME VOICE ACTOR and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to poke fun at it. Not to mention all of the jokes and catch phrases and things the 1987 turtles were famous for combined with the modern wackiness of our new turtles. I can’t wait to see how the characters interact!!!!!

Turtles Eternal?
Well, I’ve been having a revamped Turtles Forever running through my head. With 2012 and 87 crossing together. So far, I haven’t gotten much of a “plot”...just goofines.
Basically, Krang has the three Kraang that got pulled into the 87!Dimension with the Kraathatrogon. Steadily going mad trying to get them to speak clearly.
Meanwhile, a big portal mishap occurs in the 2012 dimension. Donnie, Bebop and Rocksteady get pulled into the other universe, and end up swapping places with their counterparts in a separate event. In 87!dimension, 12!Donnie escapes and tries to find the 87!Turtles. Krang, meanwhile, puts 12!Bebop and Rocksteady to good use. They might not be happy with their situation, but Krang adores them on the spot. 12!Donnie fails to stop them on his own, and instead has to protect the 87!Turtles from the much more menacing 12!Bebop and Rocksteady instead. They return to the Technidrome with everything they were told to bring, plus some extra stuff. Including an actual kitchen sink, delivered as a joke. Krang is ecstatic. Even with the sink. In 12!Dimension, the Turtles fear that they might have been a little too hard on the 87!Bebop and Rocksteady. 87!Donnie concurs. While they try to figure out the portal situation, 12!Mikey bonds with the new Bebop and Rocksteady. Somehow, 12!Donnie is back in the Technidrome, and ends up bonding with Krang. They both find that weird, but who cares. They get to talk about how no one takes their work seriously. 87!Shredder, meanwhile, becomes a little envious of all the attention Krang is giving to the replaced Bebop and Rocksteady, and to 12!Donnie, so he tries to meet up with the 12!Shredder. It goes about as well as you would think. 12!Shredder follows the other into his dimension, leading the 12!Turtles, 87!Donnie, April, Casey and the Mutianimals there as well. Now everyone has to band together to shove 12!Shredder back into his own dimension. 87!Turtles look at their Shredder and Krang a little differently when they are revolted that 12!Shredder kidnapped Hamato Yoshi’s baby and raised her on a lie.
In the end, everyone gets back in their proper place. Krang and 12!Mikey are devastated when they get their respective Bebop and Rocksteadies returned to their own dimensions. Krang because 12!Bebop and Rocksteady got shit done, and 12!Mikey because he actually got to make friends out of 87!Bebop and Rocksteady. It would certainly be more of a comedy than a drama, full of questioning the logic of each other’s universes and their counterparts.
