#tmnt self insert week

Recently the blog reached 100 followers (WOOO, imma still make art for that lol) and January 12th was when I first started self inserting myself in the show, 4 years ago :D

So for this special date, I decided to start a mini even that anyone who has a sona or self insert for TMNT can participate! The week doesn’t have a specific date so don’t worry if you want to do this later or now, it doesn’t matter! For those who don’t know, a self insert is when you insert yourself into a show/book/movie/etc. And interact with the canon characters in there! :D Your self insert can be literally yourself, interpretation of you (like you but w/ colored hair or w/o glasses or however you see yourself), an anthropomorphic animal or whatever you’d like! (Personas, fursonas, etc.)

Here are the prompts: Day 1: Your sona! (Who are them?) Day 2: Best friend (Draw you interacting with a canon character that would be your BFF in the series!) Day 3: Worst Foe (Draw you interacting with a canon character you hate/dislike in the show or that would be your enemy) Day 4: Your crush (Just draw you and ur crush because I love ships/ If you don’t ship urself, them draw u being the cupid and help ur BFF getting laid!) Day 5: Species swap! (Are they human? Mutate them! Are they a mutant? Turn them into a human!) Day 6: Role swap! (Are they an ally? THEY ARE A VILLAIN NOW! A villain? Nah man they are besties) Day 7: Draw your sona in a specific verse style! (Mirage, 87’, 90’, 03’, 12’, 14/16’, IDW, Rise)

[ Day 4: Your crush ] [fixed day]

x Idk man....at this point I think I might like Mikey.....not too sure.....kinda maybe....if you squint turn in a circle and do a backbend.....🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

x Mikey loves to design custom shoes and you betcha when he baby girls buy new plain shoes she has to either hand them over quickly or hide them so he doesn’t doodle on them.  He also paints jackets. Honestly, if Mikey has supplies he is gonna do something with them rather on skin, shell, wall, canvas, shoes, clothes. He will snatch them and return them a day later. 

x I really want both of those hoodies Taz buys Mikey hoodies that will fit so they can be fresh to death together. Though like every s/o she steals them back to wear herself even when they beyond don’t fit.

DAY ONE: SONA  i saw @raphlyrambles‘ hosting a tmnt self-insert week and given how i’ve been falling down the sewer pipes lately, i couldn’t help myself. a quick overview for now since i am working on a full bio. also it’d won’t actually be a day-by-day thing since work is driving me up the wall, but i hope to complete the whole week some time within this century

- Gisel A. Ruiz; uses Giselle as an Americanization. Prefers people call her Gar in casual settings and it’s usually how she introduces herself.  - Employee at Roy’s Pizza, works night shift at the restaurant's pizza dough station.  - Hails from Los Angeles, but moved to NYC with her aunt after high school graduation under her parent’s suggestion. It proved disastrous and it wasn’t long after Gar turned eighteen that she packed up and left.   - Is a self-taught artist, having started with a love for comics and cartoons since she was young. These are her passions, but besides that, she’s directionless with what to do with her life - She’s introduced to the world of the Turtles when, on her way home, she’s caught in a mugging. Fortunately, it happened to be the same night as Turtle Titan’s debut. Mikey’s public patrol as Turtle Titan had been going less than stellar, so he was elated at Gar’s shy, but still sincere gratefulness. Adding in that she offered him the pizza she was carrying with, he immediately fastened a liking for her - Gar doesn’t have the smarts April O’Neil does, or at the very least the gung-ho attitude of Casey Jones, but she doesn’t seem to be your run of the mill human either. No one has been able to put a finger on what it is, including Gar herself, but the more time she spends with the Hamato clan and Co. the more things seem to be unraveling - She hopes that perhaps, there is more strength in her than she could have imagined...

[ Day 2: Best Friend]

x Taz and Donnie are the best frienemies that share memes, talk about weapons, and most importantly try to kill each other in DDR

x She is also D’s wing-woman when it comes to his and April’s relationship. She’s his Mercutio!

x Tho Taz isn’t as smart as Donnie she still lives up to the O’Neil connection of just being young and dumb. Donnie likes when he can have his O’Neil squad on deck for when his brothers plot against him in games and pranks. The trio is unstoppable and very dangerous. Unlike April Taz shares Donnie dark needs to basically take over the world (reason why they playfully clash sometimes)

x Taz has kicked Donnie’s sorry ass in DDR and Donnie is hell-bent on hot water to reclaim his victory BOOTYYYSHAKER9000 WILL FOREVER BE THE WINNER!!

[ Day 5: Species swap ] (I accidentally skipped 4….I’ll get it done soon ;<;)

x My Mikey is a strong black-xican (some Samoan somewhere ) and his human design is soooo not set in stone I’m still trying to find my footing ;w; bear with me for now. Wooow mixing Rottmnt and Bayverse is harder than I thought.

x Taz would be a Geometric tortoise which is a type of turtle that is found in Africa and is….in danger if not extinct ;m; they are ancient turtles which fits into Taz’s wild nymph side origins. Which also gives me an excuse to draw African headdresses and tribal makeup. I have chubby cheeks so all my sonas no matter what species will also have chubby cheekies!!

x So I couldn’t just do human Mikey, I had to do the “what if” script to match Taz. I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW TO DRAW BRAIDS OR DREADS ASDFGHJKL

[ Day 3: Worst Foe (but not really)]

x Taz was the set example of those people that go into a haunted house and try to fight everyone except everyone is Raph.

x Before Leo and Mikey sat her down and worked everything out, Taz couldn’t be trusted in a room with Raph because she’d go into survival mood and start chucking things at him. 

x Donnie thought that was hilarious. Mikey thought his relationship was ruined. Leo wasn’t sure what to do except make a bet with his dad and April over who would win: One big red boi or one highly aggressive scared girl

x Now Taz loves Raph like the big brother he is, she’s made him a kandi necklace as a peace treaty and Raph being Raph gave her a bear hug.

x They can sometimes turn into the mom and dad of the group when she is spending time with everyone. Not even her baby Mikey is safe from her activated mom mode (but he gets the most care so everyone else is jealous).
