TMNTU character introduction: DONNIE !!!
LEO - RAPH - DONNIE - MIKEY - APRIL (TBA) - CASEY (TBA)
Donnie is the middle child (him and Raph are twins) and designated ‘medic’ of the group. He’s the only one with any sort of medical information or knowledge on how to treat wounds / injuries so from a young age he was assigned to treating them (everything from small cuts to a broken arm and missing tooth). He’s somewhat controlling, very antisocial, and cynical. He has major trust issues and it takes him forever to warm to April and Casey (the latter of which he still shows apprehension towards). The others mention it a lot but he’s changed immensely in the 3 years prior to the story, and as a child he was much more timid and terrified of the smallest things (though it did improve with age, before suddenly one day he ‘was like a new person entirely’, according to Leo). Now it’s hard to catch him by surprise, and he shows little reaction to the kind of stuff that would’ve mortified him as a child. He likes being alone most of the time, and only likes social interactions on his terms. He lies often and is very convincing, it’s especially easy for him to persuade Leo, who has trouble saying no to his brothers. His moral compass is all over the place but when he thinks something is wrong he’s very vocal about it. He doesn’t like to be wrong, and he’s very stubborn, so he’s near impossible to win an argument against. He’s also very impatient and sometimes does things out of convenience, even if there’s a more effective solution. He doesn’t like to do anything he considers ‘a waste of time’, even sleeping and eating, which has physical effects on him. The others always considered him the ‘weirdest’ so he’s constantly out to prove himself with his gadgets and to show his independence and lack of cowardice to show how he’s not who he used to be (he hates being babied or reminded of the past). He often feels like he has to make up for all of the time he spent cowering in his shell, and makes a point to be the ‘smartest’. He speaks very highly of himself so he doesn’t always admit to his faults. Not to the degree of Raph, but he is critical of Splinter’s teachings and doesn’t always obey him if he thinks he knows better. He does genuinely respect Leo, though, so he’s not quite as resistant towards him (but, to be fair, Leo is also heavily influenced by Donnie and tends to think about what he wants. They’ve got a weird codependent thing going on O_O). He likes to tell Leo about the stuff he reads and could spend hours yapping if you got him going on a subject he’s into. He’s irritable but he’s much better at keeping his temper in check than Raph, and shows genuine self-control. He’s also very dedicated to whatever he’s working on at any given time, and remains committed to all of his projects even at the expense of his own well-being. He is quite the shithead and likes to start stuff for giggles, and he’s constantly searching for reactions in others. He doesn’t like to be touched and doesn’t like being watched when he’s doing stuff, but he doesn’t seem to mind when it’s Mikey, as he’s gotten used to him always being around / clingy since they were children.

DISLIKES: heights, being chased, social situations, being babied, drawing, admitting he’s wrong, dancing, being ignored, repeating himself, his abilities being doubted
