Best Man and seasons

I wanna point out that Kaling was always confident in getting a 4th season. The writers wrote and planned the ep. “India”(Best Man) for the the season finale, before they got 6 more episodes. Like I think Mindy always wanted to have a cliffhanger for the s3 finale. 

Also, I can kinda tell or it just seems to be in originally in that order, India/Best Man was supposed be like right after Dinner at the Castellanos or Lahiri Family Values because they talk of family and marriage.  Mindy haven't told her parents about Danny yet when talking to Rishi. The talk of the quicky shame wedding in the beginning of LFV.

I keep thinking about the format of TMP seasons. It seems like something Dandy major event happens in ep 14 or so February Sweeps and in the finale is something like a plot twist or something to look forward to in the next season. S1- Hand-holding!, Danny’s love eyes and Mindy goes to Haiti! S2-They kiss!, they’re a couple for reals! S3-They’re having a baby!They’re a family., talks of marriage-Danny goes to India to meet Mindy’s parents! 

So yeah I think the s3 finale is all leading up to what s4 is about. I’m guessing about marriage and meeting Mindy’s parents! It’s interesting ..I was kinda expecting that! Like I just knew the writers were gonna explore the marriage stuff later and make it complicated or something for our OTP to later work on. 

Oh, I also feel like s3 finale is like similar to s1 finale. party,ex-bfs show up, marriage talk, ...cutting hair lol (hair/scruff) (also in s2 lol) and one of them leaves New York-cliffhanger.

I think even if TMP was super successful in ratings and knowing that they 5 more season, they still have the pregnancy plot in season 3. lol 

I think if you like them being a couple in s3 and the show, then I think pregnancy plot wouldn't be any different. 

I think s3's theme is Dandy-family(Annette and baby) and growing as a couple, Mindy-couple/job/baby, Peter-growing up 

*Also wanna add they're like Booth and Brennan again haha baby before living together and being married.

so Mindy and Danny being unsure of what to do next with career and their relationship and saying idk idk ....

Does Mindy being pregnant is like something that helps them decide what to do next? I would think Danny would decide to move to San Francisco to be with Mindy. 

 It seem like writers just knew and nicely added the pregnancy plot.

Danny: "Do you plan on having children?" I'm gonna check "no."

Mindy: Wait, why would you check "no"? I do want to have kids, four of 'em. Jaden, Madison, Brie, and the little one is Piper.

Danny: Are you kidding me with those names? You want a bunch of girls who work at the mall?

Mindy: More like they own the mall.

Danny: But you aren't married or even in a committed relationship.

Mindy: Yeah, but when I do get married, I'm gonna stay married, unlike you.

Danny: Okay, let's do the math of how these four kids are realistically gonna play out.

Mindy: Okay. Math away, nerd.

Danny: So let's say you spend the next year or so dating this guy. You're 33 then. You spend a year getting to know him, 34, two years living with him, 35, 36. Finally he proposes. You get married. Congratulations.

Mindy: Thank you.

Danny: You're 37. You start talking about having kids, but the maternity leave alone's enough to take you out of the game. You spent so long building your career, 38. Now your husband starts resenting how busy you are. He wants someone with more free time, but you don't want to stop working, so he moves out. Divorce is finalized, 40, but you're not worried because 40's the new 30, right? You immediately start dating again, this time online. Good news, you find a guy real quick and get married again. Got a couple kids already, though, so it takes some time to convince him. Do you manage to have one kid under the buzzer? Hey, anything can happen. Okay, now that we're done with the paperwork, are you ready for your exam?

Danny: Are you?
