I've been rewatching Mindy from the beginning and in DCIMG Danny does this smile after Mindy tells him not to check her out as she walks away and all I could think was he's smiling because he's totally checking her out as she leaves. Unlamp like feelings indeed!

In season One I always love it when you can see how Danny enjoys getting her all riled up, how much he just enjoys interacting with her. I think he responds to the passion he’s able to ignite so easily. She must be pretty different than the women he usually dates (or at least I imagine... Christina was probably cool as a cucumber all the time... that can be so frustrating when you want to just ease some tension and get some stuff out in the open... and girls like “Eyepatch” are just this too-cool-for-school type that never expend unnecessary energy in “frivolous” arguments), and he’s intrigued by Mindy in spite of the fact that he constantly tells himself that she’s not his type or that she’d be a huge headache to get involved with.(Also, a lot of these moments like this happen when Danny is able to observe Mindy without her noticing... he doesn’t have to answer directly for the pleasure she clearly gives him, and it’s easier to let that fucking adorable half smile slip... like in the elevator in the end of the pilot)

I feel like way back when I wrote a lot of tropey fic where Danny fights so hard against his attraction to her, but dammit he just can’t control that she makes him smile, or that he’d totally bang her... and then he does.... because that’s me writing fic for ya. :P
(I still occasionally get little ideas for one-shots set during season one... maybe if i ever finish MOR I’ll bang out a couple of them... which is probably what will also happen in them...)
