I will say that TMP's establishing shots do help establish how big the Enterprise is, and in turn how big V'Ger is, but you really could shave an hour off this movie and lose nothing

This week is a very Star Trek week because there’s not only a regular Star Trek post, there already was a cartoon Star Trek post and this post is… No, not a Star Trek musical (does such a thing even exist? I hope it does, if you know – let me too), but a Star Trek movie. I’ve rewatched “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”. And the beginning is very good! We meet our favourite characters again: Kirk’s an admiral now, Spock was doing some Vulcan stuff on Vulcan and Doctor McCoy is grumpy as usual, and if for you the end of TOS (in my posts) was less than a week ago, for me it was about a month ago (yes, if you remember I use the queue all the time, so I’ve rewatched the last like twelve (or more) episodes of TOS like less than in a week and then filled all other posts) – for the actual viewers it was more than TEN years! I can’t imagine their feelings, but I was also very happy to see our holy trinity and all other characters (sorry, but especially Chekov). (Spoilers!) The whole idea about Voyager being improved that it collected all the information in the universe and now needs to Believe in other dimensions and so needs to connect with a human is pretty interesting. But. But the movie’s just soooo sloooooow. The opening starts only after THREE solid minutes of space and music. Then there was like five minutes of showing Enterprise and so on and so on. But it’s forgivable.
eeeeeeeeee aaaaahh is it spock time skdjfjfjfjkskshshs
Spock changed out of his cunty robes into the uniform and my roommate booed
Roommate's review of The Motion Picture: "What a weird movie."
Some damn fine coffee you got here in on the refit Enterprise.
V'Ger is just a giant windows media player
I can't find who does the voice of the thruster suit in TMP but on this watch it was very much giving me Jamie Lee Curtis, similar to her EFNY V.O.
