She Makes Me Brave

Pairing: Newt x Fem!Reader

Summary: Um... I just kind of used the poem You Make Me Brave as a conversation (about the reader) between Newt, Thomas and Minho.

Terms: None

Warnings: None? I mean... everyone's just kind of super out of character for this. Short and sweet, too.

A/N: This is going to be different. It's inspired by You Make Me Brave by Sofia Elise, which is the cutest poem/thing I've ever read. The words are used in quotations. Can you tell I'm bored? Please request.

"You love her?" Thomas's words echoed through Newt's head.

It took Newt two tries to get the words out of his mouth, but when he finally did, he still seemed to hesitate. "She's a girl. That's not allowed. But, I do like her. That's allowed." He said.

"It is." Minho agreed.

"She's pretty." Thomas pointed out.

Newt smiled, watching his girl laugh at something Ben had just said. "She's so pretty, it makes my bones ache." He mumbled, redirecting his attention back to his friends.

"With want?" Thomas asked.

Newt shook his head, "That's not appropriate. But. the other day, she smiled at me and I think I stopped breathing." Newt paused, swirling Gally's 'special drink' around in his cup with a faint smile across his lips. "I think she broke me a little."

"She causes you so much pain?" Thomas asked.

Newt looked up from his drink, "My chest aches around her. I feel like I'm swallowing dying stars." He said, glancing at the sky for a millisecond.

"Maybe you should like her less."

"Yes, that would be the sensible thing to do. And yet..."

"And yet?" Minho asked.

Newt turned to watch you once again. "It feels like I could bear the pain over and over." He turned back to his friends, looking them each in the eye as he proceeded. "Every second I'm with her, I can bear the pain. Every second I'm with her, it hurts less." He mumbled the latter, but his friends caught it.

"That sounds an awful lot like love." Thomas said.

Newt's pained smile returned. "It could be." He shrugged.

"You're not scared anymore?" Thomas asked, raising an eyebrow.

Newt shook his head, "She makes me brave."

the thing about teresa is that she absolutely is a betrayer, one hundred percent. she went behind her friends back and did something that would hurt them.

but the other thing is that she did what was right to her, viewing the problem as a whole picture - she chose the world over a group of boys. she put finding a cure and making the world a better place over her own love and friendships and a family.
