The Worst Witch December Holiday Fic Collection 2024

Hello, TWW fandom! I know we've just wound down from the excellent Halloween Drabbles Exchange that @heathtrash has recently hosted, but there is a December Holidays "Guess the Author" fic collection up for anyone who wants to participate!

When you post your works, you'll be anonymous until 9:00pm AEST, Christmas Eve (24/12/2024). Your gift is the satisfaction of being right & having new TWW fic to read, or the disappointment of being wrong that quickly leaves because there's new TWW fic to read!!! Whether you're writing fic for the books, the movie, the 1998 series, The New Worst Witch, or the 2017 series, any form of The Worst Witch is welcome! <3

Please ensure that you read the FAQ and Rules carefully. They can be found on the AO3 page linked at the bottom of this post. If you have any questions, feel free to throw it in the comments of this post or DM me here on Tumblr!

A few things to note:

You can post to this collection.

When posting to the collection, the name of the collection is TWW_Yule_2024.

Deadline for "Guess the Author" is 9:00pm AEST, Christmas Eve (24/12/2024).

The collection closes at the end of January 2025.

You can post to the collection at any time from 28/11/2024 - 31/01/2025

re-release of the new worst witch and weirdsister college dvds!

by SHEER PROVIDENCE i checked ebay for tnww dvds the other day, hoping for a second-hand copy of whenever they released it the first time - i have a dodgy copy from a website i won’t name that was selling them (turns out they’re just pulling stuff from youtube in shocking quality, burning them to disc, and selling them) but this is the real deal!!

this is the first time in the last few years that the new worst witch has been available other than extra crunchy youtube quality, so this is very cool! i’ve actually put off watching it, other than the odd episode, so i’m really pleased. even standard definition quality is a huge step up from youtube and it doesn't have any watermarks. here’s a comparison of the quality!

i got weirdsister college too for my own collection! i never got around to finding a copy so this seemed like a good time to pick it up as well

i believe at least tnww is available on amazon! couldn’t find weirdsister college but it might vary by country

(i will say that these are region 4 but are compatible with region 2 players. make sure your player can handle these! vlc should be fine with it though)

i might take screenshots as i watch and share my thoughts as i've never done a full watchthrough of tnww!

thank you so much!!! it’s funny you asked this because i’ve been working on chapter 16 (hard to believe it’s been that many) lately, so hopefully that will be out soon! i will try and finish this story no matter what, and i’m so glad that people are still out there that enjoy it. thanks again <3!

New idea for tagging NSFW posts: #protect the first years

While you should still obviously make sure you tag NSFW content with the appropriate tags marking it as such, it was suggested that “protect the first years” would be a fun little fandom specific tag for NSFW items.

The Notes We Write - Chapter 15

Cyrus Goodman is not the type to get in trouble. Not at all. So, when he lands himself 6 days of detention with Dr. Metcalf of all people, he isn’t quite sure what to do with himself.

When he discovers he has a detention buddy to endure the hour with, they start exchanging notes to pass the time. Becoming friends with him was never something Cyrus anticipated, much less having a crush on him, but, as it turns out, life doesn’t always go the way you expect.
