CHARACTER WHO USES DIFFERENT PRONOUNS FOR THEIR ROOT MODE AND THEIR ALTMODE🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I FINISHED ROUND THREE OF EDITS FOR MY GRAD SCHOOL APP
holy shit that was a bitch to get through, i ended up writing SO MUCH new stuff for it, which means that section now has to be like. extra scrutinized bc it's a baby
really proud of it tho, i'm kinda feral about these characters i have created they are now consuming every waking thought i have. when i write stuff for them that cannot under any circumstances go in my application, i have to label it 'NOT FOR GRAD APP' so i remember to not include the very plot relevant (not sarcastic) spanking scene i'm planning so i remember
stuffing my shirt into my mouth to keep it out of the way and so I stay quiet while you're on your knees making it as difficult as possible for me to stay quiet...
I guess the real choice for this tattoo is 'do I want chiral to be happy with its choice, or. not'
Sometimes I think about Montresor's toothpick. Does he ever smoke? I don't think he dies, right? Is it a religious thing? Is the toothpick part of him weaning off a smoking addiction or smth?
This made me so happy because fbdixndls YES. I have a few possible explanations for it, that are actually just headcanons but stay with me here...
The first is what you've mentioned, it would be because he used to smoke and had to stop, and uses those as a replacement somehow.
My second is that he uses it as a way to stim, like, having something to fidget or fiddle with, or in his mouth (it goes with my adhd headcanon. sigh)
My third is that the toothpick gives him confidence in a way, like a lucky charm. It's a way for him to feel like he has control over a situation when he doesn't? Something that soothes the anxiety, or something. Or that helps him bluff and maintain an unbothered persona.
I really don’t think we talk enough about how much Sir John by virtue of being the symbol of (british) empire, intrudes and encroaches on everybody so much. Literally takes me aback every single time I watch the Terror.
He always treats Francis as a subordinate, even on his own ship. He takes the head of the table (when it should be Francis’), he leads every interaction with Francis with superiority- always subordinates him even when he’s trying (so SO fucking poorly) to apologize for them getting iced in. He dictates the menu. He poaches even from JFJ for his journal. He just takes and takes and takes- and is it any wonder Francis resented him so much considering how much of it is absolutely related to the fact that he’s Irish? To the very thing that likely has put him in a subordinate position with most of the navy for most of his life? Something that shouldn’t continue considering his accomplishments and tenure as a captain? It’s absolutely vile.
