As I promised I continue judging songs from the upcoming Disney musical ''Wish''. I have to be honest. I don't like any previous songs and the movie from all the spoilers looks to be trash not for me. But this song is beautiful. This is the only song from the movie I listened on repeat because I enjoy it. But it's not without its problems.
''Pulling me in, as some kind of wind''. Wind is usually associated with pushing you away or in a direction you want to go. Depending which way it blows. Not pulling. Wouldn't it make more sense to use the word ''gravity'', with all the other space lingo in other songs?
Who are they singing to? Because it's a duet and I can't see any visuals it sounds like a romantic duet they singing to each other. Or maybe father singing to his daughter. Please don't explain how they are singing to a wish or something. I already figured it out. I doubt Disney is that deprived they would show a love song between a 17 year old woman and a much older man who looks like he can be her dad. But imagine you know nothing about the movie and its plot. Just listen to the lyrics, without any visuals and guess what the song is about.
It looks to me like they've wrote a song for Asha and Star-Boy but when they changed his character they couldn't use the song. But they also didn't want to get rid of it because they also probably know it's their best song.
''What other male characters we have?''
''We have Valentino.''
''We won't give such emotional song to the ''funny'' pet sidekick. People will make jokes about our strong female character for little girls being . . . What's the word again? . . . A FURRY! You saw what they did to Bell? No more! We have Zootopia 2 for them.'' Person who wrote ''low voice'' joke for Valentino sweating bullets.
''Asha's friends?''
''No! No romance allowed. It's sexism!'' Screamed a diversity haired feminist without a man but with 3 cats.
''And They already have a song.''
''Maybe grandpa? He's a musician. Or her dad. Better yet, make it like an overarching theme of the movie. Song sang in the family for generations.'' Said the only person with a brain in the room.
''Nah! That would make too much sense. Let's get Chris Pine to sing it. We already are paying for him.''
''Yes!'' Screamed the executives and all the people thirsting over Chris Pine. The only person with a brain shakes their head.

Agustín was always aware of Alma Madrigal’s disapproval of him long before his marriage to her daughter but despite the woman’s attempts to keep them separate, the two still fell in love and eventually married.
Of course, being married to Julieta came with handing his in-laws ire close hand and snide remarks, even when it was blatantly obvious of her favouritism towards Felix. He took his’s wife’s last name in both to the family’s high standing position in Encanto, but also in part to appease Abuela.
Both Felix and Bruno did their best to shield Agustín from the worse, like trying to hide and/or fix a few things Agustín accidently broke or trip over.
Life got a little easier when Julieta fell pregnant with Isabela, Alma’s desire of grandchildren had been fulfilled enough for her to enjoy the novelty of it; keeping her in a good mood. As a good husband, Agustín did everything to make sure Julieta was comfortable and was the first to hold his new born daughter after Julieta.
Of course, the difficulties of raising a baby, under the strict gaze of Abuela returned the remarks and criticism of his raising skills. It wasn’t until after Abuela tried taking Isabela from his arms when he did something she didn’t like; that he shouldn’t be holding a baby that he told Julieta.
Julieta was swift to stop her mother from that, threatening to move in with Agustín’s parents if Abuela was going to control Agustín’s time with his daughter. Abuela backed off but Agustín knew it wouldn’t be for too long.
Fortunately, Pepa gave birth to Dolores which changed Abuela’s attention now to the newest addition to the family and lessened the burden on his shoulders.
When Isabela was turning 3, Julieta fell pregnant again and gave birth to a tiny baby girl, Luisa. It was no mistake that Luisa was a daddy’s girl, he spent her few weeks with her on his chest, letting Julieta sleep as he settled the baby and convincing Isabela to be gentle with her new sister.
After Isabela got her gift, things got more interesting for Agustín to handle his eldest daughter, letting her make flowers and cactuses alike, despite injuries from the latter. He did his best to encourage his daughter to play and experiment with what she could do, not knowing Abuela was trying to get Isabela to be more refined with flowers.
When Luisa was three, he was walking her back to Casita after dealing with a minor trip incident they were in to get her an Arepa to help the sniffling tot. It wasn’t the first time, but Agustín always shielding his daughters on the rare occasion but he always feared when it happened. Abuela found him and Luisa healing up and decided to confront him on both interfering with Isabela’s gift and that he was hurting the family with his accident-prone nature.
The argument was cut short quickly by Dolores who also wanted snack with very…convenient timing which delayed the argument that Agustín knew was coming when the next time they were alone together
It took two weeks for that to happen.
Abuela had formed an ultimatum for Agustín; comply with her demands or leave the family. Agustín stood his ground on the matter; he knew he’d have his wife on his side and he was in denial that the woman would be so cruel to him and his family.
But Abuela threatened to not allow Luisa her gift ceremony and would plant rumours that Isabela was a product of an affair; a threat that would threaten Julieta’s reputation. Especially as Isabela inherited more from her mother’s side of the family than his; Isabela didn’t ‘look’ enough like him to convince others that she was truly his if that rumour got out. Was he willing to ruin the reputation of their family even more? Abuela gave him a day to go, compliance off the table with his resistance at her first offer.
So he did.
He knew he couldn’t stay in Encanto where he would be found, he’d have to leave his parents and sister too so he knew he couldn’t stay with them.
He spent one more night with his wife, enjoying that the best he good before he slipped from his room with a goodbye and an apology note on their pillow; knowing better than to admit the truth as Abuela could still ruin his family’s life in his absence.
He didn’t want that.
He had already prepared a bag of clothes, camping gear and set out into the jungles; he had planned to circle back and find a place to hide, Bruno had mentioned a hiding space within the walls. Abuela watched him leave; making sure that Casita wouldn’t let him in again if he tried.
Things of course weren’t as simple as setting out into the jungle and hopes of navigating well. Agustín got lost from his initial plan before he found himself staring down at a large female Jaguar.
Agustín knew how to escape; slowly backing off, not holding eye contact and doing his best to make sure not to be seen as a challenge or as prey in the process. This almost worked but the appearance of a portal opening up triggered the jaguar to attack.
Hallow Pepa scared the animal off with a sharp blast of air but the injuries Agustín gained was bad; rather than leave him to die and without any of Watcher Julieta’s food on her, she and Watcher took him to their AU, leaving behind blooded clothes and his main bag behind. Not knowing what the assumption would be drawn when it was found, not knowing Julieta was pregnant with his baby...
Agustín received medical attention but opted to keep a few of the scars, which as the claw marks down his jaw and chest as a reminder of his AU.
This AU was heavily inspired by @toaverse’s AU of Agustín leaving AU, with my own personal twist. Please check out their amazing content and AUs, they all look amazing.
This is an overview of the AU, I do intend to do drabbles to fully dive in with this but that will take time to write up. Do I like tearing madrigals apart yes but putting the broken pieces of others together is somewhat of a comfort...right?
Between being heavily sheltered as a part of the royal family, and naturally having a more introverted personality in comparison to his sister, the spotlight had never exactly been available. Even with the tiny urge to go out and interact with others though, staying in the shadows had been okay with him.
Besides, who else would do the work of a royal heir if Aja was always elsewhere?
Then they crash landed on Earth, and his job was much more than simply ‘being a royal heir.’ Not only did he have to fix the ship, and hide from bounty hunters, but now blending in with this other species---the humans, was also a priority of his. So that’s what he did. Or, that was what he tried to do. As it turns out, humans really weren’t that fond of him.
It couldn’t have been too much of a big deal though. What were a few more parsons by himself anyways?
Suddenly things picked up. Krel went from sitting in the lunch room alone to sharing his music to being asked to star in one of the human’s movies. His friend’s movie. Whether it was Toby playing video games with him, or Eli listening as the akiridion excitedly explained his newest invention, or even Steve taking a break from gushing over Aja just to check on him, things had changed. it was..different. It was nice. At least Krel liked it.
So he stayed.
Krel calls Earth his home now, and unlike most things, it’s only one of the two stable parts of his life now. The other being, Toby, and Steve constantly, stopping by his home. His friend group has also gotten bigger now as well, with Jim, Claire, and Douxie joining as well. They stick together, and they save each other.
He became a part of their lives, they became a part of his---and if Krel was truly honest?
For people who'll go ''This is just a reprise. It's not that important. It doesn't have to be good.'' listen to some older Disney reprises and how awesome they are. This one is just lame. And it's not some ending song after the battle is won. This song is what defeats the villain. I'm not kidding. The movie pulls ''Equestria Girls:Rainbow Rocks''. But it makes less sense and as I mentioned before music isn't as good. Alright, so technically it's the power of wishes that makes Star break free and blast Magnifico. Even ignoring the nonsensical climax the song is still bad.
It's constantly being interrupted by ''du dum'' . Nothing flows.
It goes for way too long! It's supposed to be a reprise but is almost 3 minutes long!
How do citizens of Rosas know this song? Usually in Disney classics the reprise is song by a heavenly choir off screen.
It's not as grand as it could've been. Singers don't sound invested at all. My family has more energy when singing ''Happy Birthday''.
And ''the way you always taught us'' are they referring to Magnifico? Asha's dad? God? Star? Who?
This whole scene is cringe and completely misrepresents what classic Disney movies used to be. In the past the main character had to fight the bad guy and struggle. They didn't just sing a song to win the day.
This song, this movie, this ending is an insult to classic Disney, animation, music and reprises.

''This is the thanks I get?!'' is the movie's villain song. I'm going to be honest. Out of all the songs so far this is my favorite. But from what I saw it's also the one with the most dislikes. My best guess is that people were excited and had high expectations about the new villain song since the last one was ''Shiny'' from Moana, 7 YEARS AGO! What also probably upset people is that despite being a ''Disney villain song'' it lacks a lot of the same punch. It's trying to be like ''Mother Knows Beast'' where the villain is being manipulative and tries to pass of as the good guy. I'm going to judge the song for what it is, not for what I wish (wink wink) it would be. Just a heads up, it does pretty poorly.
The song is very repetitive with the ''this is the thanks I get'' being sang over and over. It's a rule at this point that the name of the song will be repeated many times in the song or that it will be named after whatever is repeated in the song the most, whichever comes first. But a whole freaking chorus?! At least Chris Pine sings it a bit differently each time.
Speaking of annoying repetition, the whole ''tu tu tu'' is driving me crazy. I mentioned it in one of my previous posts that I hate when writers put some sounds for singer to sing because they couldn't be bothered to come up with real words to put into their song. It's lazy and feels like padding. It's not a song in a club that you can bob your head to. It's a song in a musical. Tell a story! Unlike Chris Pine singing ''this is the thanks I get'' differently every time, ''tu tu tu'' is sang always the same. And lastly, who the hell is singing that part? Just because it's a musical it doesn't mean that singing comes out of nowhere. Usually the bad guy sings solo or with his/her minions.
Awkward modern talk that is showing up in all the songs. Examples include ''rent free'' and ''prob''. This is supposed to be a medieval kingdom. I don't expect them to speak like Shakespeare but come on! It sounds so cringe and will age the movie like milk.
Contradiction! Magnifico granted 14 wishes last year but Asha in ''Welcome to Rosas'' said he grants one wish every month. Does a year in Rosas has 14 months? How did no one noticed that?
Another problem I found with the song is how it's less singing and more talking rhythmically.
There's a moment in the song when Magnifico starts going crazy evil and you might get excited about how the song might progress but it's interrupted with ''Where was I'' because we were getting too serious, so we interrupt it with MCU like joke. After that the song goes back to its previous monotone rhythm.
The song tries to build up some excitement again with evil high strings and Magnifico screaming (which sounds good) and a cheesy echo but it's too late. They had an awesome build up and squandered it. There is no walking it back.
This is the problem with all those songs. There seems to be beginnings and endings to those songs but for the most part they just meander around in the same tone, tempo, instruments and every time something resembling a build up or a change of pace occurs it's right back to how it was sang before.
It's a boring repetitive song just like all the others but is the most hated because people had high hopes for it. But to be fair, I don't think a villain song that sounds actually evil is too demanding. Especially when people were very clear about what they want for years.

This is a part to my previous post. You don't have to watch the previous and the upcoming post to understand this one. I'm making a post about each song from the movie Wish and going into detail as to why I think they're ''not good'' to say the least. I'm not saying that singer or the music is terrible. I'm focusing on everything wrong with the lyrics. If you're able to enjoy a song because it sounds nice that's fine. But because Wish is a musical the purpose of a song is to help tell the story. Of the lyrics are confusing and contradicting the plot will suffer.
1. Valentino is contradicting himself. One moment he sings that he knew the entire time and joins in explaining that we're all stars but there are moments when he's as confused as Asha.
2. A butt joke + Lion King reference.
3. Those are North American/USA native animals and with how small the island is I'm not sure it would be able to house so many animals. It's a callback to how in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animators used animals they knew, like racoons. Even tho they shouldn't be in Europe, especially when Americas haven't been discovered yet.
4. They want to superficially be ''like the movies from the past'' but it actually shows how out of touch those filmmakers are that they don't know what made those classic movies special. Animals who fallowed Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora were their friends because they were so kind. Are those animals Asha's friends or just random animals that decided to sing exposition at her?
5. I also hate ''Get that through your system!'' ''Solar!''. It doesn't work! It's a ''solar system'' not ''system solar''! He should have interrupted earlier. Yet again, modern talk and trying to sound cool. How do those animals know so much about space and have modern scientific lingo for it?
6. ''And If you just see the mushrooms than you'll understand'' What does that mean? That we need to look to nature for answers? Is Asha high? Those mushrooms are creepy!
7. ''We eat the leaves and they eat the Sun'' (While showing the Moon because the song is at night. I guess the Moon is reflecting Sun's light but it's still contrived.) It's too confusing for small children and too simplistic for adults (or rather anyone who is knowledgeable about space and biology). Mice aren't little pure vegetarians. ''They eat the Sun'' because photosynthesis. I get what the song is trying to say but it's so clunky.
8. Just awkward things that are supposed to be funny. A bear with a gay lisp going ''YeaS''. That one stupid/high dear the goes ''You're a star.'' I understand using different voices for differentiate characters to show their characters and emotions but it doesn't work because it's the first time we see those characters, so it comes out of nowhere. Compare it to how different soldiers sang in ''I'll make a man out of you''.
9. ''If I'm explaining it poorly, I'll let Star do it for me'' again it's like ''It's unlikely that you'll be unhappy''. What's with the lack of confidence in their writing!?! It's as if the writers know this song doesn't explain anything.
10. Also, in a good song ''I'll let Star do it for me'' would be a transition into the Star singing but because Star is mute and can only use sound effects she doesn't sing. What's the point? Star doesn't explain anything!
I have a theory. A FILM THEORY!
For those who don't know, in an early concept art, Star was supposed to be a boy. But not any average boy able to talk. He was supposed to be shapeshifting spirit and a young version of Ash's grandfather. They supposedly changed him from a boy into a star from Mario because he resembled genie too much.
That explains the weirdness of the song. It was probably supposed to be him shapeshifting, making voices and that's why the animals know so much about space. It was supposed to be him singing. And after ''Let the Star do it for me'' he would star singing.
But I think that change goes deeper than that. He so clearly was changed from a human to a literal star so it can be another cute marketable thing besides Valentino. They can't say it outright so they make excuses. They could've made him mute, use sound effects and body language.
I think they also changed star from a boy into a cute sidekick, so people wouldn't think it's a romance movie because . . . sexism. I understand not all stories need a romance plot or subplot but it has been over 10 years since the last romance in Frozen and even longer since a good romance in Tangled.
One other reason I think they changed star from Asha's grandpa spirit into a cute sidekick because it was supposed to be a twist. And Disney learning the wrong lesson decided that ''twists are bad''. Completely omitting that the bad writing is the problem.
Also, we know internet. If the trailer dropped showing some cute and emotional moments between Asha and Star (her young grandfather) without reviling they're actually related because that would spoil the twist, people would start shipping them. And then the twist would come out. That would be awkward to say the least.

Can I just add that Skrael’s death has no reaction as well? At least from Bellroc? Like, they didn’t even ask where the heck Nari and Skrael where, they just…went for the heartstone??
LMAO YEAH
The arcane order used to have a bond of some sort and they’re just. There.
I just read you Analyzing Krel series, and simply had to ask this; were there any moments in 3below where Krel showed enjoyment in seeing his sister fail at something besides the “Finally, you made a mistake!” line? I know that this is quite harsh and even mean to hope for your sibling’s failure, but it got me curious.
I’m mostly saying this from memory, but while I’m not sure if there’s any scenes where he enjoyed it, in season 1, episode 3:Mind over matter, he does show disappointment at the fact that she is able to easily use his invention while looking for “morando’s spy” (who happens to be Stuart.)
It’s the line: “It worked for you? I mean, I’m glad it worked.”
