Jim and his friends are invited over for dinner to Blinky and Jackie's cave; the latter of who realizes she's much less prepared for casual socialization than she thought.

I think it works. I think.#I need to write jackie talking to claire more... there's something there.#they wouldn't ever date because claire would see her as a Little Kid (even though bodily she's only three years younger and time-wise#she's fifty-eight)#... not that jackie would ever confess having feelings for someone. she's extremely cagey about emotions WE KNOW THIS!#but jackie deeply wants to experience the milestones of development‚ including (in Blinky's words) a 'first kiss'#and she might see getting closer with claire as a way of getting to that#...not that they wouldn't GENERALLY get along as Actual Friends as well. I think they would#I think jackie would respect the shit out of her‚ especially since it's shown that claire is really good with swords#but also because claire is just generally confident and prudent#Low Key I feel like that dynamic could spark some kind of an unrequited pining situation if they hung out more#Hmmm... really makes you think
