‘Tis the season. Krampus must have left this under the tree for us. Before the final hours of the horribleness that has been 2020, why not squeeze one more horror short film before the ball drops. The team at Midnight Video gives us a Santa Themed nightmare that will make us really fear that jolly hefty man.
Ho, Ho, Ho.....
FEAR WISH
The team over at Midnight Video has been putting out quality genre fare such as YOUR DATE IS HERE and THE CANDLELIGHT WITCH. This time the filmmaking duo of Zak White and Todd Spence tackle wishes that come with a sinister catch, in the vein of The Monkey’s Paw and WISHMASTER. The audio at the end could be tweaked a little better but the tone and concept is enough to keep you invested. Turn off the lights and enjoy!
THE CANDLELIGHT WITCH
In the time-honored tradition of telling spooky stories to scare your friends, the team at Midnight Video introduces us to a new urban legend that’s guaranteed to have you turning on the lights! You can’t help but think of Are You Afraid of the Dark? or Goosebumps when watching this, as the tone and look hearken back to that era. Filmmakers Todd Spence and Zak White are quickly building up a roster of great scary content which they’ll hopefully keep adding on to!
YOUR DATE IS HERE
Man, I really want to play this board game...even if it’ll mean my demise! A good horror short should be on par with a good scary story, the kind told at sleepovers and around campfires. Both should be easy-to-follow, relatable, and have a good scare at the end. As an added bonus, YOUR DATE IS HERE, also has a nasty-looking monster to boot! Having been a standout at festivals like Fantastic Fest, this short is a great calling card for filmmakers Todd Spence and Zak White, who are probably planning on creating more nightmares for us to enjoy.

THE MONSTER SQUAD ART SHOW at CREATURE FEATURES premieres tomorrow, Saturday, September 26th (6-9pm). Writer & Director, Fred Dekker, along with the cast & crew of the movie will be in attendance!
The show is curated by illustrator, Chogrin, and features over 50 artists from around the world paying tribute to Fred Dekker’s cult classic film!
And on October 11th there will be a special screening of the film at the Ace theater (get your tickets here)! This event will be hosted by Eric “Quint” Vespe from Aintitcoolnews.com. Cast & crew of the movie will also be in attendance.
