The cold, brisk air of fall caressed her face as she walked through the tiny graveyard that she had grown oh so familiar with. Walking down the same dirt path she had every week since it happened. Alone she made her way to the spot that grew used to her presence, made evident by the dirty blanket in front of the grave. The birds had moved on, casting the graveyard in a eerie yet comfortable silence.
The gray headstone stared her blank in the face, contrasted by the bright leaves that had turned and fallen off of the trees. In loving memory of Touya Todoroki. Such a simple thing for someone like Touya, she said, but she didn't argue. He never did like too much.
"Hey Touya." She said, her voice steady as she sat down and made herself comfortable on the blanket. "Sorry I'm a little late. Shoto didn't want me to go by myself so I had to convince him. You know how he is." She smiled, reaching up to wipe a spot of dirt off of the stone. "Had to make a deal for him to agree, so that means he'll be with me next time."
"I started school today. My final year. Can't believe I'm gonna be a real hero soon, like I promised you." Pulling her notebook out, she began to doodle like she always did in her visits. It was something to pass the time, and something he had liked to do when they were younger. A small pause. "Just wish you were here to celebrate with me..."
If Touya were there, he would probably smack her for being so sappy. He would tell her to get over it and go back with her friends. Not before hugging her like she was his world, which she was. Every visit lasted hours on end. She would tell him about what was going on in her life, how everyone was, how dad was actually making an effort after all these years.
"I'm gonna include something of yours in my final hero costume design, not sure what though..." She murmured, dragging the pencil over the paper and giving occasional flicks. "Maybe a touch of blue."
The wind suddenly picked up, swiping harshly against her face before becoming gentle. A smile grew on her face, her lips wobbling as she tried to keep down tears.
"Yeah? Okay then. It's decided." She jumped as her phone suddenly rang, her ringtone a song he had introduced her years ago. Incoming call from Shoto <3, it read, and she knew her time was up. With a shaky sigh, she gathered all of her stuff and stood up.
"I'll be back next week with Sho, okay? I'll bring you my final design and you can tell me if you like it." A watery laugh slipped out before she could stop it, and she shook her head.
"I love you, Touya." Walking away, the smile never faded off of her face. Another burst of wind swept through her hair. He would always be there, watching from afar and supporting her.
Even in death, he was her biggest supporter.
