As an update to this post about my completely effed up toe stops - I have been contacted by someone with the company and they are replacing them. Derby companies are the greatest. I've never encountered any industry so obsessed with customer satisfaction and quick response time.

So I finally did it! I did the double toe stop, and did it more than once. Then I busted my ass. Even though I could have very easily fallen on my highly padded knees, I fall on my unpadded hip and elbow. With as many times as I have practiced falling how did my body not just go hey we are falling, quick fall on the knees! It's ok though. I still did the toe stop though, finally. Yaaaa me!

I asked a little while ago about dying moonwalker toestops, and you said you hadn't heard of it being done and to let you know if I try. Well I completed my experiment last night and it seems to have worked. I used a very concentrated black rit dye solution and let red moonwalkers soak over night. They are now a very cool very deep purple black colour. I haven't skated on them yet, so don't know how deep the dye has gone or if it holds, but initial results seem positive.

Do you know where you can buy the allen key that fits the mag avenger plates? I've bought a set of both metric and imperial allen keys and NONE of them fit.

It's a 5/16 key. You should be able to find it at a hardware store.

For some reason, a lot of skate stores don't sell them alone (probably since they come with the plates and assume nobody loses anything ever), but I did some searching and found some on eBay.

They also sometimes come with furniture that needs to be assembled. They are often the right size. It might be worth asking around to see if anyone has an extra, and stock up, because those things are so easy to misplace.
