Hello! I really like the flow your art has, the poses are always dynamic and interesting. Do you have some tips for beginner artists?
hello! thank you very much. i think any of the usual artist tips are helpful to people starting out or trying to gain confidence in their art; things such as figure drawing + studying anatomy, observational drawing + still life, using reference, learning color theory. those things aren't always necessary to making art that one might enjoy, but they can help to gain confidence in rendering and other technical art skills, i think. i still think it is solid advice. keep drawing, draw what you're passionate about, take breaks when you need to, all of that. some things i've tried that have helped me personally feel more confident with my art is thinking about my drawings more individually rather than thinking i always have to draw the same way, drawing or painting over something rather than erasing or undo-ing it, and allowing myself to draw the same thing endlessly until i'm satisfied or bored for the moment, or need to move on. for some examples of interesting or perhaps 'dynamic' poses, i like to reference painters and artists from antiqueanimals, and screenshots from trailcams, both here on tumblr; those are animal-focused though. i want to note, i guess, that i draw a lot of things 'stiffly' as well because i enjoy drawing it that way. i think both 'dynamic' art and 'non-dynamic' art is very fun to do. people will all have different relationships and trajectories with art, is something that i think i had to remind myself of a lot. hope any of that is helpful, take care ^_^
