So my mums side of the family are the famous Showman clan - The Blades. Her brothers came back from the Second World War and built a life and families travelling the carnival circuit of Australia. I love my “Showie” cousins and rellies. Here’s some images from back in the day when the Ekka was in full swing. That’s one of the family’s tents featuring the Legendary Ricker Johnny O’Keefe who my cousin Kay used to go-go dance for.
