Louis feels unreasonable. Less than a month ago, his consciousness was clean, not a hitch in his step. However, since the day the smallest seed of doubt planted itself in his mind, Louis keeps second-guessing himself and his choices. Every time he turns a corner, there’s some variation of Harry’s essence waiting to haunt him. A smell, a sound, a flavor, a color. Something Harry had mindlessly left behind. Something Louis is certain Harry would love if he could show him. Harry is in everything. He’s everywhere.

He holds the phone up to take a selfie and smiles into the camera, trying to ask Louis a question with his eyes. (Are you really okay? Tell me the truth. I bet you’re sitting on your bed, playing Madden, sulking. If you want to see me, I’ll come. I know you better than anyone. You’re sad. I’d like to come.)
He pushes send.

“Glad to see you haven’t sold out,” Harry murmurs. He’s leaned up against the lockers, body long and sweeping. Louis grabs a notebook from the top shelf and slams his locker shut.
His smile is small, wry. “We all sell out in different ways.”

Harry’s hair is getting longer—brown curls falling into his face. For what feels like ages, Louis traces each of his features in his mind, the way Harry’s grown into his nose, the reddening of his lips that always makes it look like he’s just bitten into strawberries.
The last piece they played together before Harry quit was Frances Lai’s Love Story, and—and nothing. If anything came of it, it allowed Louis to believe in coincidence, in the random events of the universe, in the reality that there was no point to any event. No meaning, unless he assigned it meaning.
Louis readjusts the cigarette behind his ear. “Of course not, Styles. Once a golden boy, always a golden boy.”

My favorite album by MCR! The concept, the visuals, the lyrics, I love all about it. “I Don’t Love You” is not my favorite song but it’s a song that will always make me remember the first time I broke someone’s heart and listening to it brings me back to that exact moment. “Disenchanted” is one of my favorite MCR songs and I listened to it a lot while I was struggling the most with depression and I know people say it’s a sad depressing song, but it really helped me back then.
The point is that I really love this album
