Your pulse thundered, anticipation coiling tight in your stomach. The air between you was suffocating, charged with something that made your skin feel too hot, your lungs too shallow.

He caught your wrists in one hand, pinning them above your head like they weighed nothing, while his other hand traced slowly down your side. Not rushed, not gentle—possessive.

“You wanted me to lose control, didn’t you?” His voice was velvet over steel, both a question and an accusation.

Your breath hitched. You couldn’t answer, not when his weight pressed you down, not when the hunger in his gaze threatened to consume you whole.

His mouth hovered over yours, a cruel inch away, his smile no longer the bright sunshine grin you knew. This one was sharp. Dangerous.

"What's that, Hado?" Mirio's wide smile only grew when his eyes landed on the keychain. His face grew slightly warm, and he started longingly at it. "That? Yeah. Not too new, though. I've had it for a while, but I only put it on my bag recently."

Tamaki raised his brows slightly, quiet when he spoke. "It's really... girly."

That got both of his friends' attention.

"Of course my girlfriend!" Mirio quickly retrieved his phone and, in a matter of seconds that was suspiciously fast, presented Nejire and Tamaki with his photo album of you, his darling girlfriend.

"Holy shit." Tamaki squinted. "She's..."

"Really pretty?" Mirio beamed. "I know, right?"

"I was going to say—"

"Way out of your league!" Nejire intercepted the phone and hogged it the side, swiping through the photos with an as equally curious Tamaki. "How did you end up dating a model like her? Is she actually your girlfriend? Is this some random celebrity you took pictures of off the internet?"

"Hey!" Mirio angled for his phone but Nejire kept it hidden from him with her body. "C'mon guys, you've seen her with me before!"

"Yeah? Where?"

"You ran into us getting coffee just last week!"

Nejire winced as she wracked her memory for the instance he meant. She remembered clearly being mesmerized by a gorgeous girl with a parasol, giant lace ribbons and bows in her precisely curled hair, wearing a pastel pink dress and leg warmer, pearls, patterned leggings, makeup that made her look like a real-life doll—and she also remembered briefly saying hi to Mirio as he picked up an iced coffee jacked with all sorts of flavors and a pour of boba (which totally didn't seem like his kind of drink) and his usual protein shake. Tamaki almost didn't believe her when she recounted this story to him later that day.
