The hidden homosexuality of Kamen Rider Ryuki

Among Ryuki's many themes of the prison system, sacrifice, and standing strong against a world that doesn't want you strong, a hidden element arises. Homosexuality. Many of the characters represent various parts of homosexual culture that were a thing in the 2000's. The best example is Shuichi Kitaoka and Goro Yura. aka "History will call them roommates". Gay marriage wasn't legalized in Japan until 2009, thus for a while many gay couples jumped through many hoops to be gay. Goro is Shuichi's "assistant", as in lover. What assistant is willing to die for another man? Another example being how Ren Akiyama represents married gay men. He has a wife who is always at the back of his mind judging him, I think I don't need to say much else. There's plenty of others, from Mitsuru being based on college queerness and Asakura being openly gay, but I'll let you figure out the rest.
