Headcanons and ideas for Beat, Combo, Cube and Coin regarding their relation to Tokyo-To/Tokyo...?
Beat: There are sources that state he ran away from his original home, Fukowoka/Fukuoka? From what I've seen, the info is treated as if Tokyo-To is in Japan along with Fukuoka, although I'm generally unsure if there's confirmations that Tokyo-To is actually Tokyo or if it's a copy of it (does location cloning even exist?). Then again everyone just calls it "Tokyo".
Considering that fact that he's lived outside the city, Beat has managed to locate and travel there. Assuming he did this by himself, that would have been so difficult and impressive for a YOUNG TEEN in the EARLY 2000s.
Although the reason for leaving Fukuoka is never said, there are a few things that suggest why he left. On the Perfect Guide, Beat's trait is failure and this is what the JetSetPedia says about this:
"The Perfect Guide states that his main trait is "failure", implying he is persistent and persevering despite not getting it right the first time around or is happy being resigned to society's fringes and off-beat than its mainstream "norms"."
What I'm getting from there is that Beat was some kind of underdog?
I was also thinking of the headcanon that the reason Beat left Fukuoka was to conceal his identity, probably because of something really complicated he did or someone else did to him. And since no one can really find Tokyo-To, no one could find him.
Combo and Cube: They definitely managed to discover Tokyo-To because of Coin, although I think they had some sort of difficulty, but a less hard time, searching for the city. I like to think they manage to rummage the last remains of Coin's home to find maps and such of Tokyo-To and were able to go there.
They do seem to be unfamiliar with Jet Set Radio at first, and I've now noticed in dialogue that Combo says that Grind City is "a little far from Tokyo-To". There's also the fact it's based off of New York, so I'm a little wary on the geography.
Coin: For some reason, he knows about Jet Set Radio and Tokyo-To and it's something that he keeps to himself. This brings about some questions no one has asked (probably ever!). How does he know about Jet Set Radio and Tokyo-To? We know for a fact that he has an interest of vinyl records and has a collection of them, and you know who uses vinyl records? DJs. My guess is that Coin has some kind of link to DJ Professor K, mainly on the talk of vinyl records.
Since Coin manage to get his hands on the Devil's Contract, which is allegedly a dangerous rare record. That would mean he's able to acquire very rare records in rare instances. THERE'S PROBABLY A CHANCE HE HAD GOT VINYL RECORDS FROM TOKYO-TO AND EVEN MAYBE MEET DJ PROFESSOR K.
Then there's also the fact that the IGN guide states that DJ K was from New York and used to live there, unfortunately we are not sure on this statement...
Anyways, goodbye for now. This post was meant to be a follow up to this one
