im surprised that theres no dork diaries cartoon, that book series feels lik it was made 4 a adaptation,

diary of a wimpy kid got a series of movies, (both live action and animated,)

dear dumb diary got a direct to tv movie,

tom gates got a cartoon, (the brilliant world of tom gates, which had a halloween special featuring dantdm!!!!!)

and even big nate got a (i dont lik the artstyle, the eyes just look weird imo) nicktoon.

why can't dork diaries get a cartoon?!?!

representation matters cuz wth do you mean my asian ass as a kid living in the uk saw tom gates (book series by liz pichon) as an asian boy and emily from ttte as an asian woman, due to her smokebox looking like long, black, asian hair. like huuuuuh. my stupid kid ass really perceived these very british characters as asian.

Before anyone says "what that doesn't look like Tom gates >:(" I TRIED. Tom's hair is 4 CURVED LINES. There's no way I could do that with my art style.

And if you're confused about the context, in one of the books. I don't remember which he failed a test simply because his pen wasn't working probably and he had a bad itch. This refrance to the anguish I believe he should've went through, which he couldn't because Tom gates is a children's book

Also as an Asian kid, the entire book I was thinking "HOW ARE HIS PARENTS NOT BEATING HIM?!"
