Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles offers a playable Demo
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles open world sandbox game has a Demo and plans for Linux with Windows PC. Thanks to further details from developer Tomas Sala. Which is due to make its way onto both Steam and GOG. The maverick BAFTA-nominated developer Tomas Sala, is eager to announce that freeform city builder Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. Which is also now receiving an ever evolving demo. Forgoing the ‘beta route’, Tomas Sala is launching the first ‘evolving demo’. Due to see players help shape Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles in a way never before seen. With live demo updates based on real-time player feedback. Tomas is lifting the lid on his development and utilizing his passionate community of gamers. All due to help him craft his vision. Since the game is now on show and playable much earlier than traditional campaigns.
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles Linux build
On top of the Demo release for Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles, I discussed Linux support with Tomas Sala. First off, the Demo does have Steam Deck / Proton instructions listed on Steam. Plus development is using Unity 3D. Like Tomas' previous game, The Falconeer. As for Linux native support, "the pressure and appreciation is there." Since Tomas sees the comments and requests on Discord. Acknowledging the demand, but also outlining that "a Linux port was just me at a whim / request doing it for the Falconeer last year." Fair enough, but Sala does "enjoy seeing people play my games on Linux and Steamdeck." Right now he is gauging the "release load". Seeing that Tomas is the only developer for Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. While ending the email by saying, "I feel the obligation / pressure to take Linux Seriously, and I do!" This may seem vague to some, but the dev is not committing to a Linux build yet. Instead, offering Steam Deck support via Proton using the instructions listed, at least for now. Plus you can always show some Tux Love to inspire a native build in the thread.
Bulwark : Falconeer Chronicles | Evolving Demo
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is a chilled base builder. The game focuses on the joy of freeform creation. Build, defend. and expand fortified settlements shaped by the harsh landscapes of the Ursee. Explore your unforgiving setting, and manage the flow of resources. Doing so, you help to breathe life into the land and provide asylum to those lost. There is no scrollable view of a single map. There is an explorable 3D world in which you can build on any rock, cliff, or mountain you can find. Build without a grid or planar restriction, up or down it; does not matter. Meet and hire commanders and specialists that unlock new building options, units, and stories. Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles requires a novel approach to building. Something that isn't about clicking over a screen but focusing on the world itself. In this sense the game is one of experimental gameplay and controls. Supported by a world and settlement that comes alive before your eyes. Let your creativity run wild as you become the creator of your own Bulwark : Falconeer Chronicles. You can play the open world sandbox game Evolving demo and Wishlist Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles on Steam now. Further details will be available through the coming months. Along with support for Linux as well as Windows PC.
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles may make choice for Linux
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles city builder game could get a Linux or Steam Deck build with Windows PC. Due to further details from BAFTA-nominated developer Tomas Sala. Working to make its way onto Steam. Indie solo developer, Tomas Sala is eager to announce a brand-new city builder Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. Due to take place in the same expansive universe as the BAFTA nominated flight combat game, The Falconeer. This announcement also offers further details. Since we may or may not see a Linux port this time around. The recent Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles Steam Forum post states:
I did the Falconeer port by myself quite a long time after release. It was non trivial. Sadly the sales numbers are still quite small and don't warrant the effort at release. And me being by myself on Linux makes it impossible to do it at launch. But who knows, the game is very controller optimized so Steam Deck is surely on my mind. Squeezing out a few extra fps by going native is always attractive.
While this is not a certain confirmation, there is hope. Since game development is using Unity 3D again. But it's interesting to note the attraction of the Steam Deck and "going native". Which is kind of the saving grace for the newly announced game. Check out the trailer for further insight.

The Falconeer adventure to take flight on Linux
The Falconeer action adventure game support will soar through the skies on Linux withWindows PC. According to details from developer Tomas Sala. Which continues to collect Very Positive reviews across Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. Find spark in the skies and oceans of the Great Ursee. Developer Tomas Sala has been hard at work with The Falconeer development for the past year. However, since creating a post in the Steam Discussion forum, good news is brewing.
But I've been working on the Linux build last week, with some community help. And it's shaping up well, I've got a native build with working cloudsaves and achievements through steam.
This is the recent email reply from Tomas Sala. We began emailing over a year ago about Linux support for the Unity based game. It seems things have slowed down enough for Tomas to actually work in a native build. Which is exactly what is taking place right now. Thanks to all who are helping with Linux testing. Although I'm impressed to know that cloud saves and achievement work. But no word on the release date, as stated in the Discussion.
