wil adds tommy on discord through a mutual server and tommy is so excited that someone cool and older like wilbur is actually interested in talking to him

tommy who sends way too much personal information and way too many pictures to wilbur, but it's okay bc wilbur sends some back and he seems normal! really cool, even!!

in fact they even upgrade to voice and video chat, so tommy knows wil is who he says he is. tommy doesn't really understand why wil seems so happy to listen to him to talk about such silly stuff, like minecraft and college, but wilbur asks him so many questions so he must find it interesting.

when they meet up for the first time, tommy lies to his parents about where he's actually going. he feels a bit weird about that, but wil says it's okay, and he trusts wil.

i reckon he will pretty quickly realise why wil took such an interest in him.
