Hey Tomis! I hope you’re havin’ a great day! <3I answered 3 in the last ask, so for these two…
6: Does your OC have a realistic image of their own intelligence?
Well he certainly knows that his knowledge of mechanical engineering is higher than most people, but he still thinks himself in a state of working for improvement. He tends to…”brush off” when he manages to improve on some of Gray’s designs as “just catching something he might have overlooked.” He also knows that Gray had a lot more secrets than he was letting on, and with Gray’s cottage burned, a lot of plans and schematics had gone up in smoke, so Ken’pai doesn’t have somebody there who knows more than he does to tell him when he’s improving. He’s still very much in Gray’s shadow at the present time, and the line between “following his footsteps” and “striking out on his own” are blurred.27: Does your OC practise any kind of escapism? If yes, what kind?
He does! If Ken’pai is stressed he tends to hunker down and tinker for long stretches of time, at times skipping meals and sleep. Often times this tinkering doesn’t actually accomplish anything, it’s just him taking apart something he’s already made and putting it back together in different configurations, or perhaps disassembling his rifle and cleaning it, etc. In fact, the only thing he usually accomplishes during these periods is making shells for his rifle, so he’s rather stocked on ammunition.Ken’pai also does take advantage of nature, often walking outside in the rain shirtless and letting it hit his scales. Rarely he’ll feel his instincts take hold and he’ll go off to hunt, using a spear and other techniques he learned from his tribe, rather than his rifle. And of course, sometimes other instincts take hold and, well…he finds time to relieve some stress. ;)Thanks man! <3

Don't think about defeat, don't talk about it, don't waste your time on defeat. It's better to talk in the language of hope! Talk about victory, think about the success of every thing you're fighting to realize!
So creating this blog was a plan in the back of my mind for quite some time, and in the light of people making some great strides in 2017, I figured the time was right for me to do the same.
So what is this blog?
This blog will contain all of my writing, and only my writing.
Simple fact is, on my main account, I like to reblog things that catch my eye, and I realize that my writing tends to get lost in the shuffle. My audios do too, but I consider my writing more important...important enough that I should try to separate them from my random quirky reblogs, interests, rambles and the like. This way, if anyone wants to stay updated on just my writing, they could use the “get notifications” button up top, while not getting bombarded with me gawking at cute lizards or droning on and on about video games...unless you like that sort of thing too. Heh.
The navigation bar at the top-left corner of this blog will become my best friend, and hopefully yours as well!
Any asks will be redirected to my Primary blog to avoid clutter.
I will post my writing here first, and reblog to the other blogs.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll work on sifting through my blogs, and finding all the writing I posted there and repost it here, followed by a reblog on the other blogs. This includes longer stories like Another Medium, but also shorter pieces and drabbles. I will try my hardest to keep my tags organized and place a link to those tags in the navigation bar when I start doing this in earnest.
I will leave stories I post on @sinquest on Sinquest, but I might reblog them here, as I want the traffic for those stories to go to the @sinquest blog if possible.
I will be posting my NSFW writing here, so 18+ only please.
As I am planning on organizing, I have to be thorough, and to that end, I want to make this a place for everything I write.
--I will always tag NSFW content.
--I will always hide any explicit content behind a cut.
--I will reblog NSFW writing from here to my NSFW blog, and maybe on my primary one, but I will add warnings that it leads to NSFW material.
I will make other posts here, but they will always be writing-related.
As a few of you may have caught wind of, I’m in the pre-planning stages of a potential novel. To this end, I’m writing notes as I think of them, coming up with potential characters and plot hooks and the like, and I figured I could at least share some of that here! At the very least, the characters, which I’m currently working on, I feel I could post here as well!
So that pretty much wraps it up!
-Special thanks to @tomis-jb for permission to use, and tweaking the background image to something more muted and less distracting.
-Special thanks also to @fox-babi for my avatar image, and for permission to use it.
And a big special thank you to all my readers! Take care!
Hey is Tomis ok? Starting to get worried about him...
I wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t know either. I haven’t spoken to him since March. I do know that he’s working his ass off to meet some goals. I also know that sometime in summer he goes on a cross-country bike ride, so he may also be doing that.
If it helps, remember that @tomis-jb is very skilled, very smart, and very tenacious. He’s been through a lot, and risen above to become the person we know today. Have faith, and believe in him. He’ll be back.
I have rad a lot of the stories about Ken'pai and a certain sexy warlock -cough- Tomis -cough- and i was wondering of they are a couple with a open relationship or are they just close friends with benefits? Also how did the two meet?
Apologies for the late reply! I’m working a pretty full week this week.
So @tomistalks already covered it from the warlock’s perspective here:https://tomistalks.tumblr.com/post/157542320368/hello-i-love-your-warlock-especially-when-hes#notesBut I can give the run-down from Ken’pai’s as well.
1. They’re good friends with benefits. Ken’pai often dotes on Tomis, because he was the first person who befriended him after he was left truly alone in a world that doesn’t tolerate him. Ken’pai secretly hopes that the friendship would develop into something more romantic, but he also understands if it’s not something the warlock wants. He also doesn’t know about Tomis’ need to consume souls, or the source of his magics, so he doesn’t know that Tomis is keeping them a secret for Ken’pai’s sake as well as his own. Ken’pai is a problem solver, for sure, and I’d think that Tomis knows very well that Ken’pai would abandon everything, including his own work, to try to figure out a way to “fix” the warlock’s condition.
Tomis is a pretty heavy flirt though, and Ken’pai still loves the attention he gets from the human. So it’s a bit of a contrivance. Tomis knows that Ken’pai is pretty…devoted to the warlock, sexually.
And of course the sex is very, very nice. Ken’pai’s tribe’s magic actually protects him from soul consumption, so Tomis can really push his powers further with the lizard-man…with consent of course.
2. They met about a year after Ken’pai’s master, Gray died. Ken was alone in the world, and while there was one village that accepted him because of Gray, he often had to travel to get the metals and parts he needed for his machinery. In one such village, he was taunted, and physically attacked by one or several of the townsfolk, and Tomis came to his rescue.
It took a long time for Ken’pai to open up to the warlock. Ken was a very guarded individual, being alone, different, and outcast not only by his former tribe, but from civilized society as a whole. For awhile, he was convinced that Tomis was only manipulating him, and merely wanted something from him (and he was technically correct!).
He finally relented after awhile, because deep down, he didn’t want to be alone, and this one human was his chance at that. He noticed, and probably could smell or sense Tomis’ agitation, not knowing why, and it was probably mentioned to be sexual frustration. Eventually, Ken’pai opened up completely and they bedded down for the night.
At the height of passion, and unknown to Ken’pai, their magics clashed. To Ken’pai, it felt like an explosive climax, but the warlock seemed to change, like flicking a switch. Angered, frustrated, and desperate, Tomis left quickly, leaving Ken’pai alone in the room, wondering just what he did wrong.
This sent him into a deep state of despondency. His sense of self-worth plummeted with the idea that even sexually, there was something wrong, and unwanted about him. A third rejection, from what he felt was his only chance of finding a place in the world.
We haven’t figured out the details about their paths crossing a second time, but Ken’pai didn’t expect it, honestly. He also didn’t expect the warlock to actually approach him and apologize…and it probably took some doing for it to stick. I kinda want to think that in a rare moment for Ken’pai, he just angrily laid it all out on the table, telling the human just how much it hurt him and how angry and lost he felt, and how he was close to giving up on the notion then and there. Tomis is wise though, and through his interactions with people, very understanding, and somehow managed to convince Ken’pai to allow him to accompany the lizard-man. (How this plays out could entirely change of course, we haven’t gone into it in detail yet.)
Since then, Tomis has been somewhat of a guardian and mentor to Ken’pai, both physically and emotionally at times. The bridge had burned, but it was to make way for an even stronger bridge, one that Ken’pai is deeply grateful for. He knows that Tomis doesn’t keep many friends (but doesn’t know why), so he feels honored that he’d be admitted into that small group.
I also think that Tomis would slowly start picking up on Ken’pai’s ability with machines and engineering, given that the warlock is very keenly observant. It’s a slow learning process, compared to what he gains from soul consumption, but I’d bet it sticks a lot better.
So there you go! I’ve actually been thinking about this lately since writing “Midnight Snack,” and maybe if we get some time we’ll sit down and really hash that out, so that I can turn it into a story.
…
And as a bit of admission…that part about being…abandoned during sex…that’s actually happened to me before. In real life. It happened many years ago, and it’s a long story, one that I’m…not ready to tell, but it really did a number on me and my sense of self-worth. I’m really just putting this out there because…well, if it takes me a bit to write that scene? It’s because I’m not ready. Apologies in advance for that.
Sorry for the sudden downer note, but I wanted to be honest.
