As we near the end of Book 3 I'd like to remind everyone that the Book 3 Tomix Saga has been foreshadowing for the trajectory of the main story.

Tomix’s Lament

Twisting and turning, I run through the halls, The nightmare still chasing, Beyond classroom walls,

As I enter the After, Beyond living reach, I hear mocking laughter, From beyond walls’ reach,

I run from Edelia, Scars are still fresh, My one true friend with me, We truly do mesh,

My mistake must be fixed, My past must be mend, My one true friend helps me, Drives me ‘round the bend,

In the new lands I, Find friendships all new, Worth beyond fixing, What I once blew,

But my one true friend reminds, All of my crime, Leads my new companions, From me before time,

He says he will help me, But seems so reluctant, He sings with me softly, His verse is discordant,

My new friends will help me, But one is taken, Not again I breathe, As wrongs happen akin,

History repeats itself, I am left all alone, An enemy warns me, Chills me to the bone,

I call upon my friends, Help them out here and there, Then slowly I realise, My quarry is near,

As I go off to chase her, My friends are lost to me, Alone I go forward, Now there’s just us three,

I take down the second, Oh, second to last, She reveals to me, Betrayals of the past,

My true friend betrays me, My other friends gone, I need more companions, Can’t do this alone,

My call for aid answered, By a joy to see, But disappoint I must, Take from them, me,

Resignation settles, The truth I must tell, But first I must accept, It within this well,

A well of grief, So carefully filled, I turn it inside out, Leave it all spilled,

I will leave no regrets, No pains left behind, But as I walk this ship, Dark thoughts come to mind,

Farewell to my family, I said long ago, Farewell to my friends, I’ll say on the bough,

The closer we get, To that central place, The harder it becomes, To leave this maze,

I talk with everyone, They tell me the truth, Without extra talent, We would be stuck ‘tis sooth,

So we find all we need, Adventure together once more, We take our allies, From inlands to shore,

Now we approach the core, Face innocents turned foe, Then my once friend strikes a, Devastating blow,

They are not even, Foes fighting us now, We must open, A broken vow,

Innocents were hurt here, In my last quest’s step, But we cannot mourn them, Beyond the last prep,

I will avenge, And take on the blame, But the blood washes off, It is not my shame,

Now I must tell them, Yet no words come out, A companion captured, A truth kept hidden devout,

And here I stand, Facing once a friend, He crushes my last heart, Yet I’ll keep him ‘till the end,

My true friends stand with me, Let me keep my vow, As I stumble over, Peace within me now,

I fall one last time, No line more to keep, I will tell of those, Who watch and now weep,

Because in the After, Where I will reside, I will tell their tales, Share their names with pride,

But I will wonder, And cry for a friend, Who never had any, Except at the end,

Maybe he will now know, Wherever he is, I may not see him, But heart’s deep I’ll miss,

Hero: Wow, how come you have a soul then? Because... you know... gingers have no souls, and you're a... SOULweaver!

Hero: ...

Tomix: So if I rip your soul out, you'll turn ginger?

So. I beat the Tomix Saga. AND I AM BROKEN

so i've been thinking about the war at the core from the tomix saga while at work today, specifically how aspar used the seal of ativa (i think that's what it's called i can't actually check rn) to magically lock the door. and like, i know the seal was connected to the life force of two people in such a way that they had to be killed to unlock the door. but there's nothing that i know of that says that those two people then couldn't be brought *back*.

so anyways here's how a little necromancy could have turned this plot point from tragic to comedic-
