18, 19, and 30!
what’s your patronus? A fox, I think, or maybe a hawk.
which Harry Potter house would you be in? or are you a muggle? Oh, I’m Hufflepuff, all the way.
pick one of your favorite quotes. I recently answered another meme post about this, saying that I couldn’t pick just one, but I supposed that Granny Weatherwax’s “I Aten’t dead yet!” serves me pretty well. Another one that I quite like is from Washington Irving: There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They are messengers of overwhelming grief, and of unspeakable love.”
Thanks for asking!
39, 56, 74!
39. What are your favorite stores to shop in? I am not much of a shopper. I tend to avoid crowds, and do “get in, get what you need and get out” mission style for most things. However, I love poking around in old school, laid out like a rabbit warren hardware stores. :) Also? I tend to spend a fair bit of time perusing everything when I’m in a LYS (Local Yarn Store, for the non-fibre-craft types out there).
56. Favourite colour? PURPLE!!!!!!!! All the purple.
74. How many stuffed animals do you think you have? I think there’s still 1-2 of my old stuffies in storage at my parents’ house. Other than that, none.
I used to have about a dozen, until the unexpected move a few years ago, where a lot of stuff got tossed, damaged, or left behind in a mad scramble to get out of the apartment where the (basement) ceiling started raining almost directly over my computer desk...
Fandom Qs! 1, 2, and 8 (and for that one, do Marvel)
Gonna answer all of these for the Marvel fandom
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get? I don’t get FrostIron at all.
2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP? I BroTP both Clintasha and ScienceHusbands.
8. Unpopular opinion about [insert fandom here]? Hmmm, I don’t know if I have any unpopular opinions about the Marvel fandom, except maybe that AoU wasn’t a total pile of crap. Yes, it was problematic, but I still think it was a decent piece of superhero entertainment. Not spectacular, but decent.
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Terminator!
The Lord of the Rings: Has a movie ever inspired you to take a journey or make a change? Not really. I mean, some movies have reinforced my desire to visit certain places, but none have really initiated a desire. And as for making a change, I don’t think anything outside of a personal desire has ever inspired me to try to do anything to really initiate a change in my life.
Star Wars: If you could have a sequel to any movie, what would you pick? Oh, this is tricky, because a lot of the time, sequels aren’t as good as the originals, and a lot of the movies I want to follow on already *have* sequels... Ummm... Maybe another chapter to Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters?
Terminator: Is there anything you’d change about any of your favorite movies? Well, there’s a lot of un-Jossing I would like to see in the MCU Avengers films... And I would also like to see a change in the general fandom’s appreciation of IM3. I think too many people look at that movie as a bit of a flailboat of action film, without really getting the point of a lot of the emotional development that Tony experiences through the screenplay.
Identity ask: 18, 19, 20, and 30!
what’s your patronus? I have so many answers for this! Sometimes I think it’s a for real and true Huffle badger, because I’m strong, independent, and give no shits, whereas other times i think it might be a red panda because I’m fun loving, a bit of a klutz and still give no shits...you see where this is going, right?
which Harry Potter house would you be in? or are you a muggle? Oh, I am so Hufflepuff, it’s not even funny. I blame the Libra side of my personality for that...
would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else? Can I answer “all of the above”? No? I have to choose? I pull a Persephone, and spend half my time in Hogwarts, and half my time in Narnia...
pick one of your favorite quotes. I have a few favourite quotes. “Though she be but little, she is mighty” ranks high. Also, the Have you ever seen a little girl run...” from KSD’s Captain Marvel is up there. Please don’t make me pick just one! I gain so much strength from quotes that I encounter in the wild, they become like personal building blocks, and if I have to raise one above the others, the whole construct of my being is weakened. :)
Also, I still plan to answer the other meme ask you tagged me to (get to know me meme). I just haven’t gotten the time and brain together in the same place at the same time yet. :P Hopefully, tomorrow!
Comic book asks! 4, 5, annnnd 8!
4 and 5 already answered!
My favourite story arc... Hmmm, I read a lot of comics when I was younger, but just recently got back into them.
I think from my younger days, my favourite story arc would have to be Illyana’s story in the mini-series Magik.
Of what I’m reading currently, it’s gotta be the whole of Fraction/Aja Hawkeye, with Secret Avengers following in a close second (especially the Clint gets kidnapped by Deadpool thread)
Singin in the Rain, LotR, and Friday the 13th!
I just answered SITR and LOTR...
Friday the 13th: Do you prefer thrillers or horror movies? (Or not being scared at all?) I prefer thrillers to horror, although only if the thrillers are well thought/planned/plotted out. So more like suspense, or intellectual thrillers than “screamer” type stuff. I don’t dislike horror stuff, it’s just not a first (second or third) pick for me. (Also, one of the reasons that I’ve only seen Renner in 28 Days Later once. Also one of the reasons that I like crime procedurals such as CSI and Criminal Minds, I guess.)
