Why I really disdain the rise of tone tags(between friends)
I do see a good use for them, between strangers online or to a content creator you wanna avoid a miscommunicated intention with. But man they really feel fucking invasive especially because nearly for every sentence theyrr just butting their ass in when Im casually posting/texting between friends.
New friends it can be helpful to learn their tones for certain things, ESPECIALLY if you're autistic/talking to an autistic person getting used to either's convo habits. But omfg everytime I see them use it for me, or I have to, I feel like a robot leaving a review or they are scared of me getting upset. I know it's somewhat prob a me thing because the way I've always talked is aggressive in a positive and friendly way as possible. I always have been coping with my trauma through humor and aggressive sudden bursts of chaos was one of my fav forms of comedy, plus my mom and sister turning childhood books into dark humor(not edgy but actually older themes in a funny way). I grew up rping with people doing memes and insulting each other with dilly slander. My friends I started learning about outside of rp(all friends are online) all make a lot of dark humor and I even talk towards myself like another perspective, like a narrator insulting my mistakes and it never made fun of me in any actual way that hurt my feelings deep down. I also go back and talk on people who traumatized me and make humor off their ridiculous manipulative garbage because it's healing(i get not everyone can just, start feeling that way but its very helpful to me, especially makes me feel like you guys enjoy my presence when you find it funny too. Please dont get too sorry in the convo when I lore dump like that)
I've also had so much time of dealing with people online, I've evolved to understand slang and how people behave due to media affecting personalities in their own little ways. I can tell what kinda person I'm talking to almost in 3 minutes of dming or reblogging between one another. I really do not need your tone tags please. And when I say "you" when I am going on a tangent, it means like general public. Plus all caps and ranting is usually done in like a "hahahaha what idiots " kinda feel. I do not actually get upset nor triggered by trauma except bodily waste(no trauma there but I hate human waste soooo much.) So please please please if I dislike you, I would block you. If I wanna get serious, you would KNOW. I would make it clear without tone tags. I just can't go on using them anymore. It makes me feel caged and expected. I hate it. I hate them. I wanna be me. I wanna be known as me. I almost prefer when people mistook emotions to it because I can explain it in my own way than with stupid vague labels.
