By far the image that haunted her the most from the ball was that of seeing Tony on the ground with blood pooling around him. So many thoughts of their empty apartment ran through her head that night, leaving her with so much dread. She wasn’t sure how she would’ve coped, continuing to live in this apartment without him. Knowing that he was returning from the hospital, Rori made sure their apartment was stalked full of all of his favorite snacks and had cleaned it multiple times. And if Rori was cleaning, then something had definitely gone awry. But she wanted him to come home to peace with nothing at all to worry about in hopes that would aid in his healing.
She heard the door opening, waiting to see him in their doorway with such eagerness as she hoped it would start to set her mind more at ease. She smiled at the sight of him standing there, crossing the room quickly as she pulled him into a hug. “It is so good to see you in this apartment again. You have no idea.”
