Couple of notes. The article says Todd is Liv's dad. Because Steven Tyler was heavily using drugs at the time of Liv's birth, Bebe and Todd Rundgren agreed to raise her as his own child, the 3 of them (Bebe, Todd and Stiv) knowing the truth. Liv found out soon after this was printed that Stiv was her father, and in the 1990s when she pursued her own modelling and acting careers it was made public who her real dad was.
Note 2 implies that at age 33 Bebe is "old" to follow a musical career. Bebe is known to fight ageism and saying is never too late to follow your dreams. Great people like actor Alan Rickman(RIP) didn't start his acting career until he was 40. Age is just a number, you're never too old to start a new passion or follow any dreams, careers, change job, change country, etc.
Unpopular opinion, I know (even though God knows why it's so unpopular), but "Flood" (2007) is a great, smart, engaging, well-written, well-directed and well-acted film.
You just have to keep three things in mind going in:
this is a movie showing catastrophe through people, their reactions, their relationships to one another and their relationships to their jobs and their lives etc. ( so if you're wondering why they included servicemen in the Underground or that father and daughter? because they are examples of different people who were affected by that catastrophe – and they are needed in this film, among other things, to show that such catastrophes affect everyone )
it shows more than tells – characters' expressions and feelings and actions are more important than their words, so yes, there's a lot of silent acting and close ups and no it's not a flaw
standard logic with which you analyze characters' behavior doesn't apply here because they are not sitting in the warmth and safety of their homes like you do and have all the time in the world to think about what line of action is better, they are in the middle of a very rapidly progressing disaster, they don't have all the information like viewers do, they are unsafe and scared and they have to act fast, so yes, there are lots of actions that aren't logical but then again think about how you would behave under such circumstances

The mother of Anthony “Tony” Mitchell, a Walker County man who died in police custody in January, has filed a federal lawsuit against multiple jail officials, including Sheriff Nick Smith, alleging that authorities deprived the man of his constitutional rights by leaving him in the jail’s walk-in freezer “or similar frigid environment” for hours.
“This is one of the most appalling cases of jail abuse the country has seen,” the 37-page federal lawsuit begins. “On the night of January 25 to January 26, 2023, Anthony Don Mitchell (“Tony”) froze to death while incarcerated at the Walker County Jail.”
The case, lawyers for the family wrote in the complaint, “raises an appalling question: how does a man literally freeze to death while incarcerated in a modern, climate-controlled jail, in the custody and care of corrections officers?”
The suit alleges that Mitchell was “likely… placed in a restraint chair in the jail kitchen’s walk-in freezer or similar frigid environment and left there for hours.”
Only with the release of an internal surveillance video recorded by a correctional officer did what happened to Mitchell begin to come to light, according to Jon Goldfarb, a lawyer representing Mitchell’s family. That correctional officer was later fired by the sheriff’s department, according to the lawyer.

Tony Mitchell’s recent interactions with Walker County law enforcement began on Jan. 13, when family members asked police to conduct a welfare check on Mitchell, according to a statement from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office released at the time.
The cruelty is a feature, not a bug.
“Defunding the police” is aimed at not having that initial contact with the police ever happen. The money allocated to the police should be reassigned to the social service department so they can hire additional staff, including an overnight on call, to handle exactly this sort of wellness check and be able to steer someone in need of help to the program they need NOW.
Instead the cops were sent and this man is dead, like so many other people. The murder was just drawn out over several weeks. (see article for details)
I have never made a film which mirrors my own states of mind with so much violence, and liberates my inner world in such depth. When I saw the finished product I felt uneasy, as when one sees oneself in a mirror.
