When i first watched the show i only tought it was created for represent a crazy life of crazy teenagers.
When i watched for the second time, something was different, i focus myself not into the drugs, sex and partys. I focus myself into the drama inside the story.
When i watched for the third time i knew, skins wasn't about sex, drugs and partys.
Skins is a metaphor.
As first main character we have Tony. A guy who thinks that he is the sun, when in the most part of the time he is just a meteor destroying other people lifes.
As a second main character we have Effy. Effy just changed like a lot since the first season. I always tought it was weird the fact that she was there, not talking, just existing and i was loving her. When i saw Effy for the first time i knew she was problematic. Like, really problematic. Second season: SHE SPEAKS.
Jeez, i don't know why but effy looks like someone completly different from that weird girl that was too high for speak, something that only fuck me more was that she only had her first overdose in second season. First? Did she had other overdoses? I think yes and that's where it start to get weird. What if Tony never was
crashed by the bus and in fact, he just gone. I always tought second season was too weird. The characters didn't act like the first season, they act really different.
I mean, who would ever imagine Sid and Michelle? Even with the person that they love, Tony, out of the way, it doesn't make sense.
Let's travel more: what if season two never existed. Effy appear doing weird things, beeing the highest teenager and when something need to walk on the story, she is there.
What if Effy is the Tony that we know. Wow. That blow your mind. What if Tony is just a part of her mind that se create for help her deal with hard situations.
My theory is: The bus that hit Tony was in fact, an overdose that Effy had. That's why he is not in second generation. Because he died, inside her, at least.
Wait, but what about the day that Katie mention Tony, well, this is not our Tony.
Tony is her brother. That's true. But he don't love her.
Since the first episode i tought Tony was a psychopath. He play with people, he don't show mercy, he think it's funny when everything start to get crazy.
This Tony, lover, brother, amazing. He is not real. He is an alucination. That's why he never come back in the story, he don't fucking care.
And it doesn't matter if he became a angel in season two because that was something that Effy create for deal with her lost. After the second overdose she see who is Tony and this kill her. After the second overdose she slow down with the drugs, trying separate the allucinatios from the reality. Let's remember: Effy is depressed.
In second generation we have a different Effy, a Effy more like Tony. Or, a Effy who wanna be a Tony. A Effy who looks more with season one Effy.
Daughter of a depressed woman who had an affair who destroy her family, with a psychopath brother and a abusive father (hell yeah, he is a terrible father that only scream with her and Tony).
Sometimes i even think that Tony really had sex with Effy in that party and as we saw she doing, she create other memory and pretend that this was real. Pretend that
her lover brother was there for save her.
Sid, Michelle, Cassie... Tony's friends that she grow up with and created memories for run away the fact that she was alone (hell yeah, Michelle never ask if anybody cares).
So, skins is just a metaphor of a depressed girl. Third generation is just a creation that effy made for deal with adult life, trying remember the good times.
