tooru thinks she’s going to die.

as her head is forced under the water by her father, oxygen leaving her lungs in painful heaves, she knows that god can’t exist. because if he did, she’d be saved from this hell.

she knows that god can’t exist because her fathers hungry gaze fixed itself on her before she can reclaim her stolen breath.

she knows, because as his hands wrap around her throat, all she can do is disappear into the deepest recesses of her mind.

“tooru?” he’s pulled back to reality suddenly, violently. suzuya hands him the knife, abskol’s comforting weight a reassurance to his beating heart. “you okay?”

“y-yes, i’m fine.” tooru pulls the words from deep in his chest. “l-let’s continue.” a lie, a command.

“alrighty then!”

his voice drowns out in a wave of hate, teeth bared past his lips as he’s confronted by torso yet again. whenever torso’s gaze locks on tooru, all he can feel are his fathers hands in a vice grip around his throat; and a wave of violative hate that runs bone-deep.

“hit me! hit me more, tooru!” it’s an expletive against his ears, a brand on his skin. he is meat to this man, a thing to be played with and thrown away once he’s defiled. 

it’s the same with every man he meets. eyes, stares, gazes that make his skin crawl and mouth dry in instinctual fear. haise, urie, not even suzuya is safe from that look.

the look of something so evil, so rotten, that blooms to the surface in rotten revelations.

he hates himself.

he hates his brain, for conjuring these images. images of suzuya spread out before him, limbs plated like fine dining entrees, blood pooling in an appetizing marinade. images of haise laid bare, chest darkened with feverish heat, lips pouted and puffy.

he hates himself, because he is a man. a man with lecherous, defiling, rape-ish thoughts. thoughts that no person should have. no normal person, at least.

then again, when has tooru been normal?
