kind of having fun with the paladin -> storyteller shift as a sort of tragedy. mike scared to be a part of his own story because of what it might reveal about him. mike who can’t handle the ending he’s left with so he tries to write it into something he can bear. mike trapping himself as a passive agent in his own story so he doesn’t destroy what he has left. mike the paladin, who could protect his friends, who could lead with heart vs mike the storyteller who worries about his heart spilling out on the pages. a story can be a truth or a lie. walk with me.

Vecna told us in his little monologue in 5x04, only, at the time we thought he was just talking about children, but it was actually the writers talking about the audience too, or people in general.

Easily manipulated, controlled. The perfect vessels to reshape the world.

That's what the writers did to the audience. Of course, they had to leave hints and clues, some of them pretty obvious, that what we were seeing was a lie, but the lie was stronger, bigger, louder, it had to be, and so people accepted it. And it's incredible that people are fighting to defend the lie now, just like the kids, because they don't want to look stupid. They don't want other people to think they're delusional.

Some of them are even bullying fans who dare to point out that there is evidence that something is not right. And look what the kids did when Holly tried to warn them, when they saw that she was refusing to conform?

They attacked her, called her bitch, they even became violent. Oh, but it was just because they believed they were "bringing her back to the light (the "truth"), right?

The irony.

They knew, they warned us when they made Robin say in episode 1 that that 2 hours movie Diana Ross and Michael Jackson were in was a flop. It's not easy to resist manipulation and lies that give people comfort, a sense of safety and "normality".
