I was a two-year-old living in Erie, PA in an apartment complex with a large hill that I used to sled down and hit our front door (according to my parents, of course). In music, Deep Purple released Machine Head and Live in Japan, Paul Simon released his eponymous album, Neil Young released Harvest, Jim Croce released You Don’t Mess Around With Jim, The Rolling Stones released Exile on Main Street, The Eagles released their eponymous debut, David Bowie released The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, Alice Cooper released School’s Out, and Lou Reed released Transformer.
And of course, Steely Dan released their debut Can’t Buy a Thrill which was necessitated by a certain event that occurred on June 6 of that year.
