I feel like it’s a little rushed. Sorry about that. I hope you still enjoy!
“Come on, buddy! We can make it!” Hiccup cried out as Toothless narrowly avoided a blast of fire coming from behind them. The Dragon Rider turned around, eyes widening as he saw another dragon join the two that already were purchasing them.
Hiccup looked towards the island that was rapidly approaching, silently praying that they would be able to join the line of trees fast enough to get cover. The boy glanced back and gasped in surprised. One of the dragons was a few feet from them, mouth wide opened, ready to fire.
“Duck!” Hiccup cried out. But it was too late. The blast hit Toothless’ side and the Night Fury spiralled down towards the forest. “Toothless!” Hiccup as he tightened his grip on the saddle, bracing for impact.
Hiccup jolted awake, quickly sitting up. He blinked, glancing around and taking in the unfamiliar forest surrounding him. Recalling the recent events, Hiccup got up, looking around for any signs of Toothless.
A trail of broken trees leaded him to a small clearing were he found Toothless, lightly whining in pain. He immediately remarked that the dragon was injured to his side. Thankfully, it seemed to be the only wound. As the Dragon Rider got closer, he remarked a smaller glowing form beside Toothless.
“Hey! Get away from him!” Hiccup exclaimed, rushing to Toothless’ side as the creature jerked back, the glow vanishing.
You jumped back when you heard a strange incomprehensible voice yelling. You glanced up from the wounded Night Fury before you, catching sight of a human rapidly approaching.
The strange being was yelling something that you couldn’t understand and you decided to back off just to be sure. Thankfully, you had successfully healed the injured dragon; your task here was done.
You observed from afar, surprised and awed, as the human crouched beside the Night Fury, making sure he was alright. The dragon seemed really happy to see the human. You never had seen a human showing so much care for a dragon. It was… strange.
The human inspected the dragon’s side and you could detect confusion coming from it. It ran its hand over the previously-wounded flesh and turned to you with surprised eyes. “Did you do this?” it asked.
You couldn’t understand the words coming out of its mouth, but the interrogation in its voice was clue enough. You simply nodded. You were about to turn around and leave when the human stopped you. “Wait!” it cried out. You turned to him, perplexed.
“Thank you, for saving Toothless,” the human smiled, and you remarked the dragon slowly getting up behind him. The Night Fury gave you a thankful nod, gratefulness shining in his eye. The human approached you, careful. “Do you want to come back with us? Berk would be happy to welcome you,” it proposed, gesturing to you, then to itself and the Night Fury, before pointing to the sky.
You understood the basic idea of the message and, with a small happy cry and a nod, you accepted the proposition.
