Again a statement/opinion, and again I disagree. I think it depends on the story, character, whether it’s AU or non...that decision is ultimately down to the author and many (including myself) tag who is bottom in fics because I know some people really get their knickers in a twist about it, so if someone ignores that, reads and then bitches about it, then that’s their problem.
Personally I have a preference for bottom Jared/Sam, but as I said it depends on various factors and my decision on whether to read something isn’t based on who tops/bottoms. Since I don’t feel the need to be as polite on Tumblr as replying to fic trolls, I’ll say this: if someone is really so bothered by who fucks who that they have to bleat about it, then maybe they should consider going to fuck themselves, instead!
